Having eaten in a lot of the harbour-side restaurants in Sami, my wife and I were very impressed with the food here at Soulatso Grill. As well as the prices being so reasonable, the service was prompt and efficient; we were served with delicious complementary tasters while we waited for our food. Although we both hadn't been particularly hungry, the food was so good that we cleared our plates. Even the house-wine was very nice. I can honesty say that this is the best value for money harbour-side restaurant in Sami.

Fabulous lamb cutlets. I suspect all the meat options here will be worth choosing. Sadly let down by the soggy unappetising chips which were largely left uneaten. Meat lovers go, vegetarians will struggle. Given that nowadays the likelihood of at least one vegetarian in a group of family or friends, I would suggest on vegetarian main - even if it is a simple pasta dish.

This tavern is small, informal looking but service is friendly & food is delicious & cheap. We had a really nice dinner here of tzatiki, bread, Greek salad & souvalaki with chips. We thought the pork ones were tastier then the chicken. We were given a big slice of baklava & fruit on the house. This place doesn't look as fancy as the other 2 big taverns in the village but the food is worth coming for.

The tavern "Stou Thoma" is a traditional stake house in Poulata. It is a family business with organic products and excellent qualities, portions and prices.Every weekend we have traditional plates.
Last week of our holidays we discovered this lovely restaurant rubbed by the mother and her 3 daughters including the grilling daddy! Homemade food - perfect / wine - delicious/ desert / super! They are doing a very good job and we loved the conversations! Greek how it should be and is at this lovely family. Regards and a hug from us!

The setting of this Taverna is so different from the harbour restaurants in Agia Efimia that it is certainly worth finding it out and the food is really good too. It is set up in the hills on the way to divarata. Take the Myrtos road from the harbour and turn up the road just before the Pergola Restaurant. It is a 25 mins walk UP HILL or a 4 minute car ride.It is a large restaurant, no sea views but stunning hillside location. The family do not have as much english as the harbour front staff, but they are very friendly and welcoming. The Food it very good, the portions large and the prices are village prices. At this stage I should say the Red Wine is terrible - I do not exaggerate - you have been warned.... We started with Saganaki at 3.50 which was v good, a greek salad which was huge and came with a good flavoured feta cheese stronger in taste than usual, Kefalonia Meat Pie which was the best we had eaten so far (lots of cinnammon) and Half a Kilo of lamb chops 10e (these were more like thin cutlets and were not so good we thought they were tasty but tough. A large draught beer was 2.20 and the wine 5 euro a litre (not surprising). The waitress didn't tell us, but I heard the waiter saying that there was a spt roast lamb special, which I went to look at in the kitchen outhouse. I would definitely have tried this instead of the lamb chops if I had known about it so its worth asking if there are any specials. Total meal was 34.70Recommend that you try it. But it is not always open, we ate here 29th August, went back up again 5 days later in September and it was closed. Not a problem if you are driving up there, but if you are walking make sure it is open before making the trek.

Petrangelos and his family welcome you to Maklithari Taverna in the village of Makriotika near Agia Efimia (5kms).
Maklithari was very convenient for where we were staying in Makriotika, so we rather hoped it might become our regular evening haunt. Although the menu looks trendy, the actual food is resolutely traditional in not a particularly good way. Our shared starter of riganada (a Greek version of bruschetta) was average and the toast was too thick. Mains of moussaka with chips and cod with skordalia suffered from the Greek affliction of aversion to heat and leaving everything hanging around while children were being entertained by cartoons on the TV. The restaurant has a great view, however.

Nice place on the harbour side, located at the end of the sea front restaurants. Really friendly manager who offered advice on what to order and how much, being very helpful in letting us know that the pizzas were large and didn't need additional chip orders ! The wine was nice - and the manager agreed to decant a bottle of the house wine for us to take away - 7 euros for 1.5 litres. Result !! We returned with friends on another occasion and had another great meal. The manager even sold us another bottle of house wine on an evening when we'd eaten elsewhere !! Well worth a visit.
