Okay from Route 17 the place doesn't look like much. It doesn't even look like much inside but the staff is friendly and go out of their way to make you happy and want to come back, there is always a good crowd, and the food is fantastic with fun titles. I really like this place allot. Go and enjoy. :) Oh, and sometimes there is paint night which I've attended.

They graciously accommodated our group of 50+ after a soccer tournament. They did a great job considering how many we had including lots of kids. Highly recommend for groups. Good menu and great prices. Food was good. Clean restaurant and I highly recommend for groups or families. Thank you for having us!!

We stopped here on the way back from Yorktown. It is a smhomemadepitaall place hidden in the rear. When we walked in, there was only a bartender/server/hostess/etc. She was very nice and very friendly. She seated us promptly and took our drink order. If you love appetizers, you will love this place. The crab dip is very good. My daughter loved the homemade pita chips. The pretzel mozzarella sticks are amazing. They are so tasty and the homemade beer mustard sauce is the perfect compliment. The burgers are hand made and very thick. I ordered mine medium, but the thick center was medium and the thinner outside was well done. This is a nice place but a little dim and looks like it caters better to a night life. The cigar/vape chest in the entrance is a little off putting. The staff is very nice, the appetizers are amazing, and the burgers are good.

After a long day At Busch Gardens, my husband and I decided to have dinner at Cheddars, which was located two miles from our hotel. We have been to Cheddars back home in Greenville NC, so we were hoping for a similar experience. We were welcomed and felt at home by staff Crystal and Ms. Maryann Kirby, Manager. We both ordered the ribs, but they had ran out. Ms. Crystal and Ms. Maryann went out of their way to apologize. We werenât upset about it- hey, it happens! I enjoyed a steak which was delicious, and they brought us a HUGE chocolate cake dessert to make up for it. Thank you again Crystal and Maryann for a wonderful dinner and great personal attention to your guests- it was truly appreciated. Hope to visit again when weâre in Newport News!

Our large menu features local seafood, chicken and steak entrees, handmade burgers, unique Italian dishes, overstuffed sandwiches, kid friendly foods, munchies, fresh soups and salads, extensive, wine list and a relaxed separate bar area for socializing.
We went here based on reviews. Also we wanted to go somewhere casual (kids were coming from a tournament) yet with good food. This fit the bill. With outdoor seating, bar and tables and booths for indoor seating, you can go casual or dress up. The food quality was all very good. We had fried pickles, rockfish, salmon and more. Cocktails were good and wine and beer selection. Prices were also good. They also had a meal for $21.99 with appetizer, full size entree and dessert. The salad with apple vinegar dressing was excellent (not usually a fan of the side salad). Service was attentive.

Our family had a great lunch here before exploring the Yorktown Battlefield. Softshell crab special was fantastic and the fish and chips special with fresh meaty haddock was great. Our kids burgers looked good too. Our waitress was really attentive and sweet. Beautiful view as it is literally right at the beach. Parking was easy, just in front of the restaurant. I would definitely come back again.

We came at lunch at 11:15 and it was empty. There were about 5 to 10 servers and staff standing in the open kitchen area all talking including our waitress. One of the staff was using really bad language over and over again openly . If I were a manager I would have fired her right on the spot. I asked for no coleslaw and well done on the bbq. Sandwich came with slaw on the plate and bread where they scraped it off before serving it to me. The bbq was chewy and fatty. We sent a large plate back with nothing but fat. They brought us a better selection of pulled pork. In summary the service was ok, food poor. The management needs to make the staff more attentive instead of all hanging out talking. For number one on TripAdvisor I will try other choices prior to returning. On a positive note they did compensate my meal but I never did meet or talk to a manager at all or even see one. The waitress was the only person we talked to. We have been here about 10 times so far this year and have always recommended it to friends. What a bummer.
