Feeling claustrophobic in my tiny hotel room and looking for a place to have an late night drink and a lite bite, I found this gem in Yokohama near my hotel. It quickly became my home away from home for the several evenings that I spent in Yokohama. Admittedly, I came for the beer (Yokohama Brewery is the oldest brewery in Yokohama) but was won over by the entire experience. All of their beers are made by the brewery and all of the ones I tasted were very good (my personal favorite was the Dusseldorf Alt Bier). I only sampled the light bites, but became addicted to the seaweed sauteed in sesame oil. Best of all was the atmosphere--groups of friends conversing, subdued lighting, and excellent jazz (recorded, not live). It was a wonderful place to sip a beer, snack, read, and relax after a long day (I was attending a conference). And the staff was very friendly to a lone stranger (I was the only European/American in the restaurant)--when I left on my last evening, they presented me with a couple of coasters as a memento. If you visit Yokohama and like to relax with a beer in a pleasant environment), I highly recommend the Yokohama Brewery.

This bar has good food but the staff were rather lazy and spent more time chatting with friends than looking after customers

This place was a pleasant surprise. As a construction professional I often look at interiors and how places use materials as decor and finishings. Some places just slap drywall up, some quick paint, keep things cheap and get on with the motions of the business, however, this was a different story. I could tell this place was built with care, and a cleverness I don't often encounter. So for one, the ambience was great. On par with that was the service. For example, I finished a glass of water while staff was pouring everyone else's glasses. She failed to pour mine, and I thought as she walked away that she missed my glass. Instead, moments later she returned with another pitcher of water and filled my glass. So, I can tell that the staff are attentive. I never had an empty beer for more than a few moments, but on to that point, the beer variety was also good. Plenty of selection from stouts, ambers, malty beers, IPAs, and fruitier choices. I have nothing to complain about regarding the food either. So honestly, this is a first rate establishment. Go check it out!Your expressions and perspectives are a pleasure to read! Great, great oven fired pizza from a chef you trained in Italy. Other great Italian dishes as well. You will need a reservation if you come after 6:00 or so, but they have take out that you can order right there. Really delicious. Great choice right before a baseball game with the stadium nearby.

Located in the lower level of Landmark Tower/ Queens Square. Look for the huge illuminated HRC guitar facing the Nippon Maru sail ship to find the entrance. Very typical HRC, but not the biggest one I've visited. A well stocked gift shop adjacent, with unique HRC Yokohama themed goods.Thank you for your comment.

On A recent trip to Yokohama, we visited this restaurant twice in 4 days. Great starters and mains and either good wine or beer to drink, whats not to like. The restaurant is small and busy, I would suggest that you make bookings for tables especially if there are more than 2 of you. Both times we went early as we hadn't booked and were luck to get seated. (second time we had to sit at the bar and watch them cook everything on a half drum barbecue) The surroundings are a but industrial, but that was OK for my wife and i as we loved the food
