I had read that the Riverview Hotel was the only waterfront restaurant in Yangshuo but we found this place, right on the shore. We visited in April on a lovely evening with the plate glass windows wide open to let in the air. If we had dropped a chopstick it would have landed IN the Li River. Food was good (Fried Beef Noodles, Sweet Sour Pork) and inexpensive and service was painfully slow but the real draw is the unbelievable location. We sat for a long time watching the late afternoon sun on the river and the far bank, fishing boats and water buffaloes along the far shore, and the famous karst mtn landscape receding into the distance. Find this place at the foot of West Street, down along the shore where the cruise boats dock. There is a small market there and a park-like area overlooking the water. Up a bit farther is the Riverview Hotel.

What's not to like? Nice seating indoors or outdoors at street level and on the balcony, German beer on tap plus a number of other types in bottles, a reasonable assortment of sausages and snacks. We've been several times and always enjoyed it. Friendly, capable service. Good people watching and a convivial atmosphere.

We stumbled across this place when we come off our river cruise from Guilin. The draft beer was fantastic. My favourites was Number 2. Best beer we had in China. They gave us some beautiful fresh bread while we were there.Great atmosphere. Wonderful music and best beer. Highly recommend.

The place looks charming with a cozy atmosphere and their menu is english as well. After 14 days of chinese tasty food, a western meal was more than welcome.Same goes with german/belgian beers. Good mushroom soup albeit a bit sweet. Tasty burgers and carbonara. The chicken pizza was a little overbaked thus hard.Prices are closer to the western side as well, but we really enjoyed going back to home dishes

Five of us went here for a drink and had a great time. West Street was heaving with people and noise because of the Chinese holiday but we were able to enjoy some excellent Panda and Tsingtao beers above the city, surrounded by views of the nearby karst hills. Definitely worth a visit.

I haven't stayed there (thanks god) just went for a drink with some friends , we went to the roof top and we started to look on the menu that's when the bar tender(onwer) came ... Asking very rudely ,,what do u want,?!you can not stay here without paying me ,,!!!!!We where absolutely shocked !!!! So we have orders some drinks and seat down and she was keep screaming all the time , she treat very bad his employee (at the moment American ,very pleasant boy)RUDE and NASTY woman who thinks that's better than anyone else coz she's got get one bar ... but than she wants that mean and rude to the French guys who where staying there and probably peeing here doble price for accommodation ...
