The borough of West Chester is proud of its long history of hospitality, having hosted its first visitors way back in 1769. These colonial roots still show, with over 3,000 surviving structures dating from before the Revolutionary War. The tree-lined downtown area is listed on The National Register of Historic Places, with such a large collection of Greek Revival buildings that the town was named Athens of the West. It's the perfect place for a relaxing day spent walking and window-shopping.

A good Irish pub is traditionally the cornerstone of the town. It is a place that can be a destination for multiple purposes, or no reason at all. The publican (owner) should be known to all on a handshake basis. Being involved in the community outside of
My husband and I had lunch here recently. The experience was not terrific. The place smelled overwhelmingly of bleach, even the glass ware. While smelling of bleach means its clean, itâs not the most comforting odor in a Resturant. The hostess was distracted and slow and even sat us a dirty table. Once we got settled in our new clean table, the server was attentive and the food was served promptly and even tasted good. However every time we raised a glass (water, wine or beer}, we got that lovely bleach smell again. Not sure we will go again.

We like The Social for food that is a bit interesting and tasty when we are doing a pleasant date night. There are two areas: a lounge/bar area in the front with TV's to watch the game and tables in the back away from the bar noise. We prefer the latter. THere are lots of beer options and they will give you a taste if you want to try something new. Also other drinks. You can get a little or a lot to eat, appetizers, small plates, salads, soup, Entree's, sandwiches, desserts. I especially love the goat cheese with honey appetizer. My husband tried the Jumbalaya and liked it a lot -- I tried it, too and was less impressed. We shared a really delicious chocolate mousse. I find the drinks and Entree's a bit on the pricey side, but the appetizers and small plates are great prices. It is not an extensive menu, but lots of choices that go beyond the every day. We like it a lot when we are going out for the night that is neither fancy nor casual. There are two steps to get in and no railing to help. Tends to be a younger crowd, but as oldsters we were perfectly comfortable there. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a good review. We really appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Service was absolutely fantastic on 12/14 on 2nd floor with my work Teammates. I had the chicken parm sandwich with salad. Some friends enjoyed the Bison burger which I had some time ago. Highly recommend you visit this establishment if youâre in the area. Plenty of parking nearby.

Being Memorial Weekend, and a rainy Sunday, my bride and I decided to revisit the Inn where we have not been in years. We were one of the original diners when David Cox took over this fabulous place back in 2006?, or earlier?, and loved his work.My first visit to Marshalton was in 1980 and every revisit has been enjoyable. We opted for the dark bar area to eat and were joined by obviously locals who knew all the wait staff. Melissa was our server, Ian, our bartender, and our service was absolutely perfect. Thank you Melissa! My bride loves Fondue and David Cox is a Cheese Guy. So we opted to share the Fondue and ordered the Pear salad as an app. The salad was large enough to serve two and it was awesome.Although I am not the same Fondue fan as my bride, I will say it was a very, very good choice. All in all, a perfect way to come back to a place for which we have many fond memories. As others say, cozy and comfortable.

We were going to the Blarney Stone for lunch the other day and were surprised to see this sign saying the Stone. Anyway, our lunch was delicious, I had a super Corned Beef, Cole Slaw and Russian Dressing sandwich and Joan had a Club Sandwich. Both were loaded with meat and very well prepared. We will have to try them for Dinner soon.Glad you stopped in, Bill! Happy you enjoyed the sandwiches! Come on back for dinner soon!

A bunch of us stopped here for dinner for a friends birthday. They were able to sit about 12 of us which was awesome. they had a good beer selection. The only down side is that it's a little pricey but, the food and beer were both really good so it took a little sting of the price away.

Stopped by Iron Hill on a late Saturday afternoon. Menu had plenty of options as did the beer list. I ordered a flight I created myself and enjoyed the tastes of beer I would not typically drink. The restaurant is also very ADA friendly as they assisted us with the best way to bring our son who uses a wheelchair to access the dining room

Sat out on patio very pleasant. Good service. Menu is the same as Marshalton Inn. Disappointed in the mushroom soup, lacked enough mushroom flavor. not up to lo al standards. Clam chowder special very good. Pear salad and range house salad very good. Enjoyed the coffee and multiple refills.
