Pub / restaurant & B&B
My colleague and I decided to visit Masons Arms on Thursday 27th whilst we was at the West Somerst Railway Gala and had an enjoyable lunch ( Home made faggots with Chips and peas) and a pint of mild and half of lager (total just under £20.00) The service was attentive and friendly and the pub/restaurant had a nice comfy and relaxing atmosphere .

We popped in for refreshments one afternoon around 3:30pm. The pub was empty when we arrived and there were 3 more people when we left. Due to the heat there were flies. This could be a simple fix of hanging some small clear plastic bags filled with water. The décor is simple, and we loved the old photographs of Watchet on the walls! We had a look at the restaurant upstairs with the possibility of returning in the evening for dinner but the thing we liked most was the view. Everything is rather dated and yet it wonât take too much to make the place more inviting. The carpet could do with changing and the whole place just needs a coat of paint including the exterior. Also, there should be air fresheners placed upstairs as the carpet and soft furnishings absorbed the food odours, so all we could smell was stale oil and fish. To help with this, in summer, the windows should be left open upstairs during the day to âair outâ the place. The owner of the pub is a formidable lady who is happy to chat with her patrons which we enjoyed. We look forward to returning in the future and hopefully finally having a meal here.

We are locals and have held off eating in the bick to let the new management settle in. We have also read recent reviews since the management change and were rather doubtful about having Sunday lunch (the previous carvery was a hard act to follow). We were very pleasantly surprised, a good choice of meat and decent portions. The beef was a little overdone for my taste but that didn't matter as I had turkey. A little later there were 2 clean plates and 2 satisfied customers. We will return to eat from the normal menu but if Sunday lunch is anything to go by we don't expect to be disappointed. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating seeing as we hadn't booked.

The Smugglers Inn offers a cosy bar, a delightful restaurant and accommodation by the sea at Blue Anchor Bay in Somerset. We are on the edge of Exmoor and the Quantock hills and make a perfect base for walking holidays. The West Somerset steam railway run
We stayed in Blue Anchor with our Labrador, Riley, for 4 nights. We ended up eating here for 3 of them! Very friendly pub and the surroundings were lovely. Welcomed Riley with treats and we were able to sit where ever we wanted with him. The food was exceptional. They recommended the homemade pie on our first night which we both had, OMG I can honestly say it is the best steak and ale pie I have ever tasted! So much so I had the same the next night! My husband had the fish and chips which looked amazing. On our last night we both had the steak which was cooked to perfection - medium rare, just how we liked it. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I really would recommend this pub for a friendly chat and drink and definitely for food.

Stayed here for family birthday, with hubby and 4 adult children! Beautiful thatched pub/restaurant with accommodation to rear of building. Restaurant food is great, local ales and ciders, landlord Simon handled our northern humour with grace!! Very much worth a visit.

We didnât want pub food in town so drove here. They had a cavers for £9.99. Lamb, beef, turkey, chicken and roast potatoes, parsnips and numerous vegetables. As many visits to the carvery as you want for everything except meat. Best meal Iâve had in weeks of travel. Used to come here as a kid 50 years ago and came for reminiscing and it was much better than I could imagine.

We are ideally placed for exploring Exmoor, the Brendon & Quantock Hills or just 10 minutes drive away from the coast at Watchet. Inside, you will find all the character and atmosphere expected including wooden beams, an inglenook fireplace and log fires
We have been staying the village and as only driver, it was great to have excellent food, booze and service on the doorstep.Excellent fish and chips one night, next very tasty salmon en croute with perfectly cooked veg, partner had tasty burger and last night sizzling steak. Chicken madras as you would expect from a pub rather than curry restaurant. The portions are huge. Had to ask for reduced chips as hate wasting food. How anyone manages main course with starter and/or dessert is beyond me!!Very welcoming "guvnor" who keeps excellent ales. Don't expect a wine list but Pinot Grigio was good. Service was swift, polite and we were always checked on after delivery. The food was piping hot - no hanging around under a heater for sure!Summary - great food, huge portions, friendly, efficient service at sensible price.

The Star Inn is located in central Watchet. We always have something special on offer: when itâs cold outside, keep warm by the log fire while in summer you and the kids can enjoy our outdoor secret garden area. Youâll savour our selection of real ales, l
