Not normally a problem but because we are now having to book again there are fewer rooms available in that area which means underestimate if pounds more being spent. Thanks for nothing Angel Inn!Hi,We are really sorry about this. We’ve just recently taken the Angel Inn on. The George Inn

I thought for a moment that I had got myself a job there as I went hunting for the milk, then the sugar, then to find out whether or not the ridiculous £12.50 price tag per person for two tiny breakfasts included ( like Premier Inn and many other breakfast outlets we have frequented) as many visits to the cereal/ orange juices/yogurt buffet as we liked which of course it did not include. The George is an attractive pub with nice decor and a superb garden with ample to keep the family occupied but sadly this is where the compliments halt.My breakfast included toast, a whole tomato, one egg, black pudding( which I had to literally saw through) a sausage which had obviously been reheated and two tiny pieces of bacon...£12.50 for this I thought as we paid at the end.We notified a staff member concerning the black pudding and she said she would have a word with " chef".( or microwave technician as I called him/ her.A terrible dining experience that I hope will never be repeated ( I nearly wrote reheated ) Visited 31st August.Thank you for your recent review and am sorry that your visit and experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Most people who visit the George consider our breakfasts to be both of high quality and good value and as you did not find this I can only apologize. I can also assure you that all our breakfasts are freshly made and our chefs and not 'microwave technicians' as you claim. If you would like to discuss your visit any further please do not hesitate to contact me.assuring you of my best intentions at all timesLaurieGeneral Manager

My husband and I ate here with 13 friends. The food is spectacular. There were so many tempting dishes on the menu it was really difficult to choose. I was particularly impressed by the seafood grillade which was very large but very tasty. My husband's seafood platter was also excellent. Very nice desserts and the ambiance was great. Although the restaurant was busy and we were a big group all eating different things the service was great, very friendly and efficient. We are already planning a return visit.

Found The Carriers online & from the reviews felt it would be a good place to stay overnight with friends after visiting Stonehenge. What a fabulous pub and B&B it is, we were welcomed as friends from the moment we walked in, and made to feel completely at home. Steve & Jean are superb hosts, the food is great, & the atmosphere in the bar very relaxed & comfortable. Beds were comfy, rooms clean & smart; & even the cats are friendly! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, & would most definitely use again if in the area.

Lovely country pub, large, village location with a chalk stream running along the boundary. Fabulous to sit out on a sunny day, whether to eat, drink or just watch the world go by (slowly). The building is well-maintained and comfortable, staff friendly, plenty of car parking. We sat outside by the river with cold beers while waiting for brother-in-law to arrive, then ordered lunch. And what a lunch! Generous portions of superbly-prepared food. I had a steak sandwich - the steak was superb and the focaccia bread roll it was in, with red onion chutney, just awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. Some of the best pub food I've ever had.

Had lunch here with a total of five of us. We all chose the baguettes though there were many other choices on the menu. The baguettes were absolutely delicious and enormous by the way!! Two of us had sausages and onions and other three rare beef which they said was fabulous. Cups of delicious coffee all round afterwards...a delicious lunch and well recommended. Super friendly and efficient staff too.

After reading the reviews and good local hearsay we went today for Sunday lunch. The waitresses were friendly.Sadly only 3 choices for starter - which was poor - but but luckily, as we are not fussy, we were able to choose something. Chacuterie boards and garlic mushrooms were lovely but the pea and courgette soup tasted over poweringly of pepper once you d had two or three mouthfuls.Main course; I had the beef, which was lovely, if a little on the pink side and my husband had belly pork which was well cooked . The meats and Yorkshire puds (which you got with any roast-a great touch)were lovely, the roast potatoes looked great but we're woefully under cooked. Sadly the extra gravy was very very salty abd once poured rendered the rest of the meall inedible. I'm not sure if the chef didn't taste it, had a cold or just had no palatte Two of the kids chose roast chicken and one a pea and herb rissotto. The chicken was dry and again the potatoes were under cooked and hard. The rissotto was awful. No taste and clumpy- my 15 year old cooks a better one if im honest!!We did complain and in fairness were not charged for the kids meals, however by this point it was almost 5pm on a Sunday and finding somewhere else to eat was near enough impossible so they ended up with a McDonald's. Not the family roast we were hoping for!! The majority of reviews have been good so maybe we caught them on a bad day but we won't return.

This great pub used to be our local until we moved a few years ago. We were so pleased to be able to go back on Sunday to celebrate a friend’s 60th Birthday and enjoy one of Dean’s amazing Sunday roasts. Nothing is too much trouble for Dean, Cath and their staff. Every aspect of our meal was perfect. My Pork was superb. The meat was succulent with beautiful crackling. Others in our party had the Beef and Lamb and none of us could find fault. Loads of yummy veg to accompany it including Colly Cheese and creamy Cabbage with bacon. Desserts were equally delicious. I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding and my other half had the Cheesecake. I think the full house of empty plates said it all!I highly recommend a visit here.

Stayed here for one night whilst on a family trip to Longleat. While the Weymouth Arms has a classic look our room and bathroom were nicely finished and furnished. The bathroom was particularly well done, and my son loved the exposed wooden beams. The service and greeting was informal and friendly, just right for this type of establishment. The breakfast was excellent, with both continental and hot options. Recommended.
