Came across this lovely restaurant/hotel with fabulous views up the valley. We ordered four starters which was far too much for the four of us. Three would have been sufficient. Washed down with a nice bottle of Protos wine and coffee all for â¬72. Very friendly service, I think we may well use this hotel to stay at next time we are travelling through Spain as it is quite close to Santander if you are arriving late afternoon or for that matter leaving mid day. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have, the weather,which was sunny did help!

Fuimos a comprar quesadas y sobaos para toda la familia a El Macho y de vuelta nos encontramos con este asador : un verdadero tesoro. Bien atendido y con una oferta para ser sábado impecable.En el menú te ofrecÃan lechazo al horno, fideua de marisco, sopa asturiana, etc...y todo por 15 â¬/pax, mejor imposible. Si paso por allà repetiré.

Food was great, big hearty portions in a beautiful setting. A really nice family atmosphere, with loads of activities on offer, played the mini-golf which was so much fun and loved the maze - complete with incredibly cute donkey mother and foal as guides!A really well done family activity setting.Dear James,Thank you for your opinion. We called in here twice while staying locally. A good position on the main road at Vargas with a terrace to sit outside. Inside is fun with pool table and music, outside pleasant with friendly locals. The owner (?) is really friendly and helpful and helped us with our poor Spanish language. Decent basic tapas and cañas, just what we needed on the way back to our house. Our second visit wasn't quite as good, being served by a very smelly female, but the owner did come to our rescue and we ate and drank again. It stays open until 3am apparently, so I would imagine it's a fun place during the evening. Our visits were in the afternoon only.

We came to this restaurant because the one we intended to visit was closed, but we certainly didn't regret it!The menu of the day was excellent - home cooking at its best. And three courses for 9⬠- don't know how they do it!Will definitely be back!
