It is also one of the constituent parts of the Vaal Triangle region and was formerly situated in the Transvaal province. The name Vereeniging is derived from the Dutch word meaning "association" or "union".

We saw the reviews when we visited the Vaal for a night. We thought we simply couldnât miss it, but we were disappointed on arrival. Perhaps it was too early at 11:45 because it was still very quiet. The atmosphere improved once the live music started.We were in a bit of a rush and our food (a simple order) took ages to come out. Tables that arrived after us seemed to get their food at about the same time and it was impossible to get a waitressâs attention.It looks like a nice place. Interesting decor, but we were disappointed with our first visit.Good day Brent. As part of management, I would like to apologise for the experience. We usually strive to be better than this. We have been visiting Spur ranches for decades and by now have our expectations based on this. We had lunch and ordered burgers, mine was the chilli chicken burger.The chicken was the toughest I have ever tasted, chips and onion rings soggy.6/10 for the food, service was good, Lazier, our water was very attentive. Air conditioning was not effective, no playground for the kiddies, only playstation.No internet access on the wifi

Despite being very busy, we were treated like celebreties! The ordering process is interesting and if one is older, do take ypur reading glasses with! The food wa#fresh - the best burger I ever had, and I will most certainly cisit them again!Everyone wants a bite of the good stuff! Thanks for rockin' over! ;) We appreciate the 5 stars.

What a bustling wonderfully civet little pub in the heart of SW5! Iâm not much of a pub goer but my sisters and I decided to visit Horse and River for some birthday fun! The food was just incredible! The live music- so good!! We made friends, we danced, we had a great time!
