This restaurant is located in the country side far away from Tarifa in the small village of La Zarzuela. You can park your car in front of the house. When you read the name of this restaurant you will get irritated because the name is Bar - Asador.First we thought that we only would get a drink.Inside of this house in country stile with almost only wooden materials there is a fire-place that will warm up the room during the winter season.Of course there is not real winter. But in January the temperature was about + 15 C and it was very windy outside.Although the staff was unable to speak English we understood that fresh fish on a week day is not available.Although the wine list was not up to date.So we ordered deep frozen prawns (gambas) pil pil with a lot of garlic combined with a bottle of wine.At the end we got a free drink from the house.Credit cards are accepted. Here is my personal individual rating:Ambiance: 2-3 pointsPresentation/ Preparing/ taste of meals: 3 pointsValue for money: 3 points

Visited September 2018 and, the new menu is a real improvement. The burgers and french fries are very delicious, with generous portions too.The pizza's are the best in the Tarifa area, a great variety of toppings, with superb authentic base !To compliment the new menu, there are new faces amongst the staff too, and they are superior to the old crew. Attentive, polite, considerate and friendy !This restaurant was already very good, and now it's excellent thanks to all of the positive changes !!!

they let you try the best Tarifa tastes possible. do not be decieved that somebody speaks english there. No, that is not that type of place where they are so desperate.. you do not speak spanish.. ok, you have to tackle it.. but believe me, you will never regret. The good move is to book a table in advance

We were driving to Tarifa when I noticed something in the sky, it was full of kites. You have to visit this beach if you have the time to see this amazing site. We had a lovely lunch here, great drinks and really enjoyed the entertainment of watching all the surfers and kite surfers. Parking can be crazy but well worth the stop.

We wanted a light top-up before turning in for the night in mid September and stopped here as Luisa from Hospederia Seit y Diez recommended it as one of her favourites. Friendly service, we loved the artichokes and the melted chèvre dishes and the red wine/orangina drink we had. Recommend.

Our last day in Andalucia we were in Tarifa for lunch. We chose this place because it was full of locals. We tend to avoid tourist traps. We had great tapas and the food was extremely fresh and delicious. Prices were good, very low for the great quality. We were served by the owner, Juan, who was so passionate about his work.Highly reccomend this restaurant and if ever in Tarifa again we know where to eat!!!Muchas gracias por su opinion y nos alegramos haber cumplido con sus expectativas, intentamos poner pasion y cariño en lo que hacemos y eso es facil con clientes como usted. No dude en volver, gracias

This is certainly a popular spot but we found the service slow and the staff unfriendly. The food was very average.Dear JMBFDublin,Thank you for your visit and for sharing your experience in our restaurant! Probably there was a exceptional conjunction of factors that propitiated a bad experience. You must come back again, next time you visit us your commentary will change surely.Hope to see you soon.Regards!

Normally I would not be making an effort to get Italian food in Spain, but this place caught my eye. It's Italian food, but served in more of a tapas style so you can try a lot of different things rather than doing the Italian course style meal and being too full to move after (though that is good sometimes too, haha). There are Spanish options on the menu too, but it's primarily Italian. It's in a nice area near the water, so you can go for a walk after eating all that food. The restaurant wasn't too busy (I think it was a weeknight), but the staff were extremely friendly and often stopped to chit chat with us. Our waiter was helpful with recommendations too, because we were having a hard time making up our minds since most of the menu looks delicious. We ended up having the zucchini (they may have been pumpkin flowers, sometimes the Spanish word seems to be interchangeable for them) flowers and stuffed mushrooms to start and both were delicious. The flowers aren't always in season, so if they're available, I do recommend them. The meatballs were the best I've had in Spain, absolutely perfect. The jamon croquettes were crunchy and delicious, and the lasagna was so flavorful. We had tiramasu for dessert and it definitely lived up to our expectations after the meal we'd just eaten. This was probably one of the better meals we had in Spain, we were very happy with it.

2nd time of visiting and not disappointed. The food chosen (meatballs, tuna, egg plant and goats cheese and vegetable layer) were fantastic. All cooked fresh and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return to try further dishes. Congratulations to the chefs and the waiting staff who make ordering in our limited Spanish very easy.

Tapas Bar. We cook with local food: retinto meat, tuna fish, fish varieties and seasonal vegetables
We have been traveling from Italy to Portugal and now to Spain. We ate the prawns, tuna toast and hamburger and they were all delicious. The owner was friendly and had great suggestions for what to eat. Stop here for a light dinner in Tarifa!
