It lies at the mouth of the River Blyth within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town is about 11 miles (18 km) south of Lowestoft, 29 miles (47 km) north-east of Ipswich and 97 miles (156 km) north-east of London, within the parliamentary constituency of Suffolk Coastal. The "All Usual Residents" 2011 Census figure gives a total of 1,098 persons for the town. The 2012 Housing Report by the Southwold and Reydon Society concluded that 49 per cent of the dwellings in the town are used as second homes and let to holiday-makers.

This is a terrific pub with a great atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in the door. The staff were really friendly, helpful and attentive and nothing was too much trouble.The menu was comprehensive, I am sure everyone would find something to suit. The dining area was spread over a couple of rooms creating little pockets of intimacy often lacking in a lot of places.The food was tasty, fresh and delicious.Our night was rounded off nicely having a few drinks with the landlords and some of their friends.

Oh dear what has happened since our previous visit? The wait for the food with no for-warning from staff is totally unacceptable.The staff were not happy, you were not busy so there is no excuse......please return to your previous ways!Oh&portion size for the prices you charge??? All in all a very disappointing visit for a special Birthday treat

We stopped by for a coffee and were impressed with the service and the room. We later on that week took our friends back for breakfast, which was extremely good, interesting choices on the menu. They have rooms here too and I would expect them to be good. Fast service, clean and tidy, well done all!

Unfortunately the promised special venison pie wasn't available, which was a shame. I had chicken tikka currry, my wife had the sea bass, both pretty decent. They also had Ghost Ship 0.5% on draft, which is not something I have seen before. They had the full range of Adnams beers on tap - as you'd expect for an Adnams pub in Adnams' home town!

It was recomended to us by a few people so we went to find it near the sea front. It's a very popular place and when we walked in there were no tables but a family moved up to get us on their table. It's a very friendly pub, with lots of chatter and laughing so if you want a quiet night it's not for you! We loved the atmosphere and selection of wines and beers. We had a very nice pub meal with chips. We had a really good night.

Whilst here in Suffolk on holiday for a week we had heard that this place was definitely worth a visit.Very popular place indeed, glad we booked, service very good, we both ordered the local sausage and mash, very tasty and reasonably priced at £9.00 each.My wife then had a sticky toffee pudding which she said was deliciousGive it a try, but book first.
