Great choices on the carvery not only roast meats, but casseroles, pies and many other choices. Loads of different veg and potatoes. Lovely gravy and food is always hot. You can go back more of everything. It's just a shame the place is looking a bit tired. Certainly cant fault the food!

Pre booked party of 4. Excellent reception and service only surpassed by standard of meals and friendliness of staff. It would be hard to find fault and churlish to do so , but one mute point. In keeping with its status and heritage a cobbled walkway exists to the car park. Our visit was after dark and the walkway had no prominent lighting making our return to the vehicles uncomfortable. Perhaps maybe a thought for the future for activated tremble lighting as an aid. Please do not take this as a criticism but a suggestion particularly helpful to older visitors.

My wife and I pop in to the Waggon every couple of weeks or so mid week for a treat and it has never disappointed. Steak night is usually Wednesdays which we canât make but the Landlord Ed very graciously allows us on Thursdays to take advantage of the 2 x steaks and a bottle of wine for £35. Ed is an exceptional chef and presents fabulous foood at a high standard. Friendly and jovial staff makes for a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommend.

We visited the Admiral Rodney in September, choosing it because it's website advertised a Sunday carvery. Four of us ate in the restaurant and the carvery was wonderful, service was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We returned to visit Southwell today and chose to eat at the Admiral Rodney again. This time we chose to eat in the bar area which had a lovely atmosphere and a log fire to warm us up. We were served by Val, who was friendly and helpful, and we ordered a range of dishes from the menu. We couldn't fault any of them - I particularly enjoyed the rhubarb and apple crumble! Look forward to a return visit!!

I worry that Trip Advisor reports have this Pub averaging 4 stars. It is low grade in almost every respect. I recognised all the points made in the poor reviews and saw nothing of the points made in the positive reviews.... save to note that it has good parking.

We had dinner here one evening whilst camping nearby. What a great place! Really tidy interior with such nice staff, the two lads that were working the night that we went in were lovely. Our meals were delicious, portions are large and extremely good value for money. I had a beef and ale pie and my other half had scampi. The beef in my pie was so tender, and the chips were homemade, which seems to be so rare to find these days. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

The Bromley is located next to the River Trent in the beautiful village of Fiskerton near Southwell, Nottinghamshire. The major refurbishment in February 2014 brought a more modern feel to this traditional country pub with a fabulous double sided log fire
We enjoyed our meal here, both had the roast, very tasty. Thought the portion of meat was a little small! The carrots and cauliflower were undercooked. Hence the 4 stars. The serving staff were attentive and the beer was well kept.We have booked again for another try!

Love this pub as it is full of character & plenty of tables outside if you fancy dining outdoors. The food was excellent, very friendly staff & good service. We dined with friends & didnât realise we had waited a while for the main course - a member of staff brought us a free bottle of wine to apologise which was so kind of them.

Some confusion with the Groupon voucher meant we ordered 2 courses but still had to pay for our desserts as the Groupon was for starter and main only, not main and dessert. Disappointing as we told the waitress when we arrived that we had the 2 course Groupon and ordered our food and nothing was said until our bill arrived. We didn't have the starters that were included but still charged for the desserts. The food wasn't great, the burger tasted gristly. Ice cream sundaes were very basic. Quite disappointed after reading the great reviews and won't return. We are sorry you were disappointed. Unfortunately it states on the terms and conditions on the Groupon site and also on the voucher what is included in the deal and that it can not be exchanged for anything else without a surcharge being paid. We are sorry you didn't enjoy the food and hope you reconsider about trying us again
