We love coming here on Tuesdays for $5 burger where you can design your own. We love the Swiss cheese with mushrooms. Had two incredible appetizers with friends. Pretzel sticks was one. Get a cheap Guinness as well.

so, as stated in a previous review, this was my favorite restaurant in Southern Pines. Unfortunately, due to three straight horrible customer service experiences I doubt I'll return. Tonight, we were forced to share a waiter who was waiting on several other large parties as well as a few other tables. In the end, our party spent nearly two hours at the Char Bar. At one point I ordered a beer only to have it delivered just prior to my bill being delivered. This organization also owns Hickory Tavern so it is no wonder their service stinks. They have the reputation of delivering great service initially only to fall back on their laurels. At this point I will avoid both places!

The Bell Tree Tavern is a locally owned Restaurant with a full service bar and great outside patio and bar. Located in the center of downtown Southern Pines it features a gorgeous outdoor patio and bar and has 10 large screen TV's for the avid sports fan.
Six of us, including two young girls, went here for dinner. The girls ate chicken soup, and we gave them some of our dishes, too. I ordered hummus, which was served warm with very good warm pita sections. My husband ordered an open face tuna melt, which was difficult to cut but very tasty. We shared an order of onion rings, which were okay. Two others shared a French dip sandwich that they described as very good. Their sweet potato fries were a bit soggy, though. This is a tavern, but the hostess and server welcomed us and were attentive. Their beers were not served in pint glasses.Thank you for your patronage. I am glad we exceeded your expectations. We do use 16oz pint glasses for our beers which is different than the European 20 oz pints. We do this specifically based on the alcohol content of some of our beers and it helps control over consumption. Thank you again.

I was really looking forward to eating here to fill my craving for some good Brit food. Boy was I disappointed when my âbangersâ and mash arrived. Rather than eating bangers that I was expecting, these tasted more like smoked sausages. Mashed potatoes were ok but nothing special and the peas were luke warm. Our friend had the fish and chips that were âgoodâ. In fairness, my wife had the burger and said it was as great as advertised. This is the reason I still gave a 3 rating. We will go back to the other âEnglishâ pub next time.

A Carolina roots restaurant, bar and caterer. American food using scratch made, North Carolina raised products. We take time preparing each dish carefully with the best products we can find just for you.
I came in with my friend on a weekday afternoon for lunch. It is a quiet quaint little restaurant. The food was good. But as stated it was overpriced for this area. I had the burger and it was delicious. Proportions are fairly large. The glass of Pinot noir I had was probably two days old and tasted that way. My friend said that the salad was excellent.Mike, we are so glad that you felt that our food was delicious and that the portions were large. Sorry to hear that you weren't happy with our pricing. We do our best to seek out the best ingredients that North Carolina has to offer and sometimes in order to get the highest quality, we pay a premium price to help ensure that we have amazing local food that is chemical, hormone, and antibiotic free. We know our vendors personally and know their practices are in line with our philosophy of great ingredients making great food. We truly hope you will come back because you enjoyed the quality and taste of our food. I'm sure my staff can help make more budget friendly suggestions for you that will help you feel better about the pricing.

Stopped in here after reading they had Nawlins style Chargrilled oysters. While this is a thing on their menu, they are more of an inspired-by, than actual tak on the dish. We ordered two-dozen of these, and what came out was a bit disappointing. They were very small oysters, some with butter, some with cheese, and all on shells that were flamed way too hot for the recipe. Instead of cooking the oysters in the butter garlic sauce and letting the cheese melt, it seemed as though they grilled raw oysters and then after threw some melted butter on top. They were not bad (minus one rotted oyster), but they were not worth the $44. After this strikeout, tried the alligator cheesecake. This was actually quite good. We also got a dozen raw oysters, three different locations, all were fine. All in all, I would definitely recommend the alligator and have others pass on their oysters.

We had a reservation to celebrate my birthday for seven adults and two babies. The problem started when two entrees came out but we hadnât even gotten salads. About five minutes later, all salads came out. Just a couple minutes passed when the rest of the entrees came out except one. So, didnât get to enjoy salads. After at least ten minutes, the last entree still not out. By this time I had stopped eating and was upset and requested the manager. Still waiting, and after about another 10 minutes the entree finally comes. Everyone else is finishing up. And server says sheâs going to try to get a another manager to come by. I told her never mind. After a conversation with the server, it is my opinion that the manager (GM) didnât care. I was offered a business card for a free appetizer/dessert. Very sad. I was told the manager was serving too. Poor management. And the food wasnât that good. They did comp the cost of the late entree, but it was too little - too late. Donât go! Iâm excluding pictures of our checks. We are certainly disappointed in the errors that affected your experience with us yesterday. Unfortunatley, as hard as we work and no matter how much focus and attention we give to be perfect, we understand we will never be 100% perfect although we continue to try to be so. We are not sugeons, pilots or astronauts- although we train for zero errors -we have human hearts and hands working toward consistent perfection, sometimes something fails. We are sorry the evening left you so upset. We do handle hundreds of dinners every evening and most often we are extremely consistent with delivering exceptional service, we are sorry on this rare occassion a monkey wrench was thrown into our procedures and our efforts went down with the ship. Regarding your service, our systems and human error did fallshort and unfortunately several issues affected the timing of the delivery of your food. Although your items were not coursed properly your entrees were delivered to each guest at your table with the exception of one, whose entree was delayed. It was unfornate the young lady had to wait for her entree however, we gladly took that item off her bill. We were unaware there were any other menu item complaint(s) during your visit. With all parties of 6 or more we do add gratuity - although you had some service issues these issues had nothing to do with the servers performance. Although the manager on duty was unable to speak with you directly she made attempts to overcome your disappointment by taking off the young lady's entree and providing you with a free sandwich/appetizer card for a next visit. We are sorry this was an unsatisfactory attempt.
