The Grantley arms is a newly refurbished stunning community pub with a great range of beers and fresh food, where drinkers and eaters alike are looked after with the same friendly and professional service. We serve delicious freshly prepared food all day
A pleasant ride over The Surrey Hills from our home on a lovely September afternoon. We really must visit The Grantley more often-friendly,efficient staff and management, excellent food (including one of the "speciasl"-steak and mushroom pie-one of my favourites) and dining al fresco in the garden-what could be better?

The setting is perfect ... a traditional pub in a beautiful English village serving the good old British roast besides other nice offerings on the menu The local brew ale was also very good. Very friendly and welcoming service. Prior as very reasonable.

All in all well worth a visit.

The William IV is an beautiful 16th-century country pub in the Surrey Hills conservation area. It has a flagged stone floor, inglenook fireplace with wafting woodsmoke and low oak beams. The perfect pub you sink into, where the atmosphere is relaxed and w
We chose a traditional dish: venison pie. It was delicious. We enjoyed the Eton Mess for dessert. The atmosphere was charming and service was good.

The Queen's Head is located in the heart of the beautiful village of East Clandon, close to Guildford and the A3. Forming part of the award-winning Red Mist Leisure family of pubs, The Queen's Head is a popular location all year round offering a large pub
We havenât been here for many years as itâs not local but are pleased to have rediscovered the Queens Head and it was obvious from the big but busy Thursday lunch time car park that itâs a popular venue. Deservedly so from our experience. Service was welcoming and patient not pushing us to order quickly and was polite and clear to explain when one of the specials would take longer to cook. We had wine by the glass - all eminently drinkable - some breads to start and then mains and shared desserts between each couple. The portion sizes were ample. Everything tasty. Average £30 a head. The interior decor is nicely done and there is a pleasant buzz to the place so we will definitely be back soon. I would have given 5 stars if the veg had been less tough - my husbandâs kale and my broccoli were underdone even by modern day standards. The table for 4 was also a bit cramped. Hi ChristineB796Thank you so much for your review and we too are pleased you have re-found us.Some great feedback which we will share with the team and our apologies about the vegetables, we will always cook them al dente, but please let us know if you would like them softer, and if there is anything not to your liking with the meal let us know at the time and we will always try and fix it whilst you are there. We look forward to your future visits,Kind regards,Alex and The Queens Head Team

Delicious food, locally sourced and freshly prepared in a relaxed, friendly and cosy atmosphere; perfect for morning coffee and pastries, lunches with friends, a casual supper or special celebration. Join us for a drink! Youâll find great ales, guest beer
Lovely setting in stunning village . The pub itself is beautifully decorated and is really nice for a drink.Sadly the food is not very good , we've tried three times including one sunday roast. The roast was terrible, one of those where they put a huge yorkshire on the plate but sadly very poor, potatoes, veg , gravy etc. The other dishes were tried on two random weekday evenings and though not the worst we've ever had , it was not good enough to eat there again.Staff vary from very rude to very nice so that's hard to comment on though I would favour the latter as we have had greater experience of nice staff as opposed to rude. So yes to drinks , really nice , but no to food .

We had a family lunch at the Drummond after doing a circular walk in the area (which was very pleasant - the Saxon church in Albury Park is definitely worth a visit). It was absolutely perfect for a summer weekday visit. The place was busy but we got a seat in the beer garden, which has a stream running past the end of the pretty garden. And the food was good too - a huge specials board chalked up for the day, from which I had very good plaice in a spinach and cream sauce with prawns. Delicious. The rest of the family were equally happy with their food, with the fish platter, kebabs (quite spicy!) and excellent chips particularly worthy of mention. Staff were friendly and helpful, service was prompt without being âclearly everything is microwavedâ quick, and overall you really canât imagine anywhere nicer for a sunny lunch.

Superb location in an historic building. Lovely soup and dessert but main course of Hake in Pancetta was slightly over cooked. All four of us really liked this place which was particularly beautiful after dark. The staff were really friendly and we would certainly go again if we were in the area.

Nestling amongst the lovely half-timbered buildings of Shere, close to the tiny bubbling River Tillingbourne, is a former 15th century farmhouse and Grade II Listed Building called The White Horse. It's hard to imagine an English country pub more idyllic.
We go to this part of Surrey annually and we meet up with one of our longstanding friends for dinner at The White Horse, which has made itself our place of choice through its dependability. It offers what we want. An interesting menu, food attractively served, appealing surroundings, a listening proprietor and, on this occasion, a young lady ('Livi') who gave us outstanding service and who allowed us to take our time and sit at our table for as long as we liked. Parking is not easy, but a space somewhere around this lovely village is findable eventually, but don't expect to find one in five minutes of entering the village at peak times. Having reserved a table, we were shown to it. It was a good one, until a young group with loud, high-pitched voices came to the table next to us, talked over each other at increasing volume, cackled, and made conversation for us difficult. So, we asked if we might move, despite having already ordered our meal. The proprietor made no bother of this at all, and along with our waitress, handled the matter so skilfully that those who caused us to want to move did not even notice. The menu choice is interesting and varied, and food is attractively presented, and very tasty, and with sensible portion sizes. The staff are also accommodating when one asks if one might have a slight variant on what is stated on the menu. There is an eagerness to please. We appreciate the time you have take to write this great review. It is great that you continue to be satisfied with your visits to us. We strive to provide excellent service and it is amazing to hear that our guests are recognising this. We look forward to seeing you again. Many thanks

I have reviewed a reasonable number of restaurants and this is only the second 1 star score attributed. Reserved a table by phone, arrived a few minutes before the agreed time. I was shown to a table by the barman and then ....nothing. No menu, no offer of a drink. 12 minutes passed, waiting staff drifted through the restaurant, looking after a table of about 10 and another couple. There were no other diners present so it wasnât busy. Then a new diner arrives and is immediately given a menu. This was more than the bridge could bear. Waitress was approached who offered a half hearted apology accompanied by asking me if I had seated myself! On being told that I had not and I was leaving, the defaulting barman was identified, although Iâm not sure it was necessarily his fault. Result- one lost cover which Iâm sure wonât break their bank but is so irritating. On the plus side, a 1km walk took me back into the town and an excellent Thai restaurant (review to follow). And I was offered a menu and a drink on arrival. Dear TriskelionI very rarely respond to reviews but in this case I feel I really ought too as I have to completely disagree with your comments.I think it is fair to outline what happened with a bit more accuracy. You sat in the barn area which was busy and put your head down buried in your phone and no point did you make any attempt to make eye contact or speak to any of the waitresses. Unsurprisingly they thought you must be waiting for someone to join them. Instead of just making some attempt at communication you continued to stare at your phone until after 5 mins (as checked on CCTV) you decided to have an unbelievably rude rant at one of my staff and stormed out threatening to leave a poor review. My staff may have not realised that you were alone and ready but your reaction both at the time and since are quite frankly totally over the top. As soon as they realised they offered you a drink and menu but you clearly had no intention of accepting their apology.
