Reviews on Bar food in Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States. Scranton, at the center of the Lackawanna River Valley and nestled between the Pocono and Endless Mountains, is surrounded by nature. Just ten miles from the city is Lackawanna State Park, where visitors are welcome to sail or ice skate across the 198-acre Lackawanna Lake. But there's no need to leave the city to enjoy the great outdoors. Nay Aug Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, and includes a zoo, a museum, two Olympic sized swimming pools and a great gorge topped with a treehouse.

Stopped in at Applebee's late in the afternoon! Place was clean and nicely decorated! The decor reflected the attractions in the area! Our server was very nice & professional and stopped at our table frequently. Food was delicious. Although I must say, that the food was very hot when it came out. We had to wait a while for it to cool down. We had the 2/26 deal - the bourbon chicken & shrimp with salad! Very yummy! Will definitely return.

P.J.'s Pub at the Hilton is open nightly with drink specials and a "fun" bar menu featuring everything from burgers & wings to salads & wraps.
We ate here when we were too tired to leave th Hilton and look for a restaurant. They had better than average sandwiches. Try the shaved prime rib. They appear to do their own potato chips. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent1

In Manhattan in 1965, there was no place where people could go out to meet friends and make new ones in an environment that was at once both relaxed and yet exciting. Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, "to meet Pan Am stewardesses." Sud
Our waitress provided excellent service, bringing drink refills before we even asked and providing service with a smile. We all know that Friday's has great burgers and their buffalo wings and nachos are pretty darn good too. For a little bit of adventure, try the Buffalo Wing Burger with sauteed Brussels sprouts on the side... its awesome!

We ate here mainly because it was close to our hotel. The food sounded good after a day of travel. I had a beer, which they brew, that was good. The waiter was polite and pleasant. The best menu item we ordered was the adult grilled cheese. The stuffed shells were good as was the pizza. It was a nice spot for a family to eat.

Date of Visit: Friday, Oct 26th, 2018 (lunch)This bar is very unassuming, and simple in appearance from the road, but that is where the averageness of this place ends. This is an absolute must-visit place in Scranton, PA. Beer: Several great beers are on-tap and served very cold. The food: With a menu that is so vast and varied, it can be hard to make a choice. We had the tacos: Sweet & Spicy crab, and the BBQ chicken â with Vanilla Honey cornbread and mac & Cheese. The tacos are amazing. Everything is prepared fresh, and there is creativity in the menu. The flavour combinations are amazing. The BBQ Chicken with corn salsa, jalapenos, and sriracha ranch sauce was spectacular. The Sweet & Spicy crab with pineapple was great as well. The Vanilla bean honey cornbread was to die for â the piece of cornbread they give you as a side dish is huge. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Typical Bar / Pub style place. The restaurant was very well decorated, clean, and enjoyable. The Service: Our waiter was very friendly, and clearly enjoys his job. He was very helpful, attentive, and pleasant. This guy provided exceptional service â not only to us but everyone who came in. The Prices: the prices are great: $10-15 for 2 large tacos and a delicious side dish. Considering the quality of the food, freshness of ingredients, and presentation, this place could be charging a lot more â but we are glad they do not. Parking: there is a parking lot across the street with plenty of spaces for local businesses. This is a phenomenal restaurant with great food, service, and prices. You really gotta eat here when you are in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Understandably it is was a Saturday night, but we were extremely disappointed in the amazingly slow service. Our waiter explained that the kitchen was having trouble keeping up with the extra demand due to their new SpeakEasy next door, but we didn't see any unusual crowds. Its a shame because the food was actually pretty good - not fine dining, but better than your average pub fare. The Flatbread pizza served as a great appetizer that the 6 of us shared. Thank goodness, because it held us over as we waited another hour for our burgers to arrive. When the bill came, our waiter discounted our dinner because of the delays and apologized. So we'll give them the benefit of the doubt and consider that it may have been an off night. But I suggest you make sure you have plenty of time and are not in a hurry to go anywhere if you try Ale Mary's on a Saturday night. We had a 4 hour drive home after this, so it was especially painful.

The Backyard Ale House provides a casual laid back atmosphere. We feature one of the areas largest selections of Micro, Craft, & Import beer menus. Unique all-season outdoor dining and bar.
This is a great pub with classic atmosphere and great food. 100s of beers including dozens on tap. Great selection of burgers and hot sandwiches, well thought out tasty menu. great value and good service. I would definately recommend this as a stop if you are craving informal pub grub - well worth it

We continue to believe that the Sambucca Grille remains one of the best finds in the downtown Scranton area. We first visited over 4 years ago, and had the opportunity to go back again this weekend. The cavatelli salsiccia was my favorite - served with mixed peppers and sundries tomatoes. Our table also enjoyed fresh Carbonara, and the Penne alla vodka. Coffee and dessert was a nice way to end the perfect special dinner for our family. Recommended again!

Owned and operated by the Cooper family since 1948 Coopers has become a landmark in Scranton PA. More than just a restaurant think about us as an interesting dining tour experience, once you are here youâll enjoy everything: the menu, the staff, the decor
I was on my way to a 'Friday the 13th' event in New Jersey, and decided to make a 'The Office' side trip along the way. I'm not even a 'The Office' super fan (I have not seen all the episodes), but I was thrilled with this gift shop. My favourite item was the Kevin Malone fridge magnets. The atmosphere of this restaurant was 'delightfully cheesy,' just as it was portrayed on the TV show. I cannot speak to the food, as I was only there for the gift shop. While in the area, you can also visit the 'Pennsylvania Paper & Supply Company,' the original Dunder Mifflin, and pick yourself up a free poster.Dear Product of Canada, Thanks for that nice review! Coopers is glad you enjoyed your visit with us and next time your passing through Scranton stop in for some great seafood too. Remember "Ain't no party like a Scranton party cause a Scranton party don't stop" Sincerely, Paul Cooper

My in-laws had salmon, perfectly prepared (rare), while my son had grilled chees AND a 5 napkin hamburger.Desserts were great and the coffee outstanding...Definitely reasonable: $250 for the meal (5), corking fee and tip.We plan on going for dinner soon.If you are in Scranton, worth the visit. If youâre just passing through, worth the stop.
