Nice location and bar staff who understand customer service. We didn't eat here but always had an aperitif before dinner. Sensibly priced and looked after our dog with bowl of water without asking. Good starting location to explore Saumur's brasserie and restaurants.

In a nice square in central Saumur, we found Au Bilange. They accommodated our requests for un-French drinks (pineapple & lemonade!) and the pizza we shared was terrific. This was market day (Saturday) in Saumur and was a pleasant place to sit for a rest.

Comparing selections from all the restaurants as we walked by, this one spoke to us the most. We're glad it did! Friendly and attentive service and outstanding moules with chorizo and bell peppers, we were very happy. The fries/chips are also really good.

We always try and eat here when we come to Saumur. The owner never seems to leave!! He is open from early to about 20.00 hours. He is very helpful. His staff are lovely, they do not speak English which is great. Their food is exceptional, home cooked and always superb. We had steak with caramelised onions and chips and the chips were home made, then tarte tatin pomme - outstanding once again.

We ate at this brasserie on hot June evening and opted for an outside table which was well shaded. Good servive and perfectly adequate food without riniging any bells. The service was good with personable waiters who made one feel welcome. A good standard but not exceptional. I wasn't paying so I do not know if it was good value for money, though I suspect it would have been. It has alovely location close to the river.

I went with friends. about 2 years ago, the food was delicious and service very friendly. Something has changed...sadly....The service was brusque, the food was very average and a little overpriced......5 euros for egg mayonnaise? The 'black' burgers looked unappetising and were not good and the risotto was. very average indeed.A really diappointing experience I am sorry to say!
