We found la Taberna by accident during one of our evening wanderings in La Linea de la Concepcion. This town may not be as charming as others in the region, but it has charm in its own right. You just have to look for it. And you will find it at la Taberna, a place that was filled with what appeared to be locals when we were there. We were looking for a light, late-evening dinner and were not disappointed. The prices were extremely reasonable and the wine and tapas selections respectable. It was lively and the staff were attentive and efficient. No one appeared to speak English, but who cares, as they were all smiling and helpful.

A family run restaurant in the heart of La Linea town. We offer a wide range of fresh, homemade English comfort food. If you're looking for a great meal at an even better price, come down to Danny's and try it for yourself!
We were looking for somewhere that caters for vegetarians.....not much choice in La LÃnea but Dannyâs delivered. We went on burger night....home made burgers and a beer/wine. Great value, lovely food, really friendly welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We will recommend to friends and will come back again.

Enjoying a meal isn't just about the food, it's as much about the location and the people. Bar el Varal and the people that work here provide a memorable experience and one that my wife and I keep coming back for. The food is always fresh and well cooked, the owner buys from the local market, I see him there often enough, and if the market doesn't have it then he doesn't have it on the menu. The best way to enjoy this place is to stand at the bar and order tapas or small rations one at a time. Sizzling hot gallo (John Dory) or boquerones (fried anchovies) are a favourite of mine, and when in season the wild boar is lovely. Wash it down with a glass of ice cold Rioja, or, as I prefer the Ribera del duero and you have the making of an excellent evening out.During the summer months there will be tables set up outside, but get there early to avoid a long wait as this place is very popular. It usually opens about 8:30 in the evening.

Just happened on this restaurant whilst looking for somewhere genuine to eat. The waiter was extremely helpful and produced a variety of tapas to suit our differing tastes. He kept checking whether we had had enough or whether we wanted more. Seemed keen we were enjoying the dishes rather than trying to get us to spend as much money as possible. We sat outside but the inside was well worth seeing. Highly recommended.

Blimey itâs looks great and has some great details which someone has put a lots of thought, investment and time into.. the food is amazing and drink quality good.. itâs just disorganised and unable to cope.. the staff are allowed to be lack lustre and unorganised..we waited a long time for drinks order to be taken.. even longer for them to arrive.. then we had to call someone to order food.. this then only arrived after I complained. Second round of drinks took even longer, had to go to bar twice to get this resolved.. the waiterS 3 off plenty given the covers and the bar man had no system... the service crashed with no ability to recover. The manager ... when enquired.. was sitting in the corner doing books, so he did not have to take them home!!! Real shame as itâs got some great features.. just need to sack front of house and start again.. 3/9/2019- 2-4 pm so as an owner you can analyse your staff and save your business.. we really like the place, food and ambiance.. the owner is being let down by allowing bad staffing to continue..

Solomillo: The one we've got was a bit too skinny and dry, but prepared very well. Don't compare to the best in the city, I wouldn't call this one a proper stake.Huevos Rotos: A sunny egg with a running yolk perfectly covered in fries. Just brake it and enjoy!Empanadilla con queso de cabra: For those who like goat cheese with caramelized onion. Very creamy inside and taste rather sweet. The place has been refurbished recently, and for the DECOR, the new interior feels still a bit empty. The lights are too strong and the walls are missing some color or images. Tip: Don't order sides, all meals come with fries.

We found this restaurant with TripAdvisor's recommendation and the reviews are right on! We highly recommend this bar-café!! The food is outstanding for the price OR otherwise. And the service is really personal and great (even when blitzed with a rush of clients). Muchas, muchas gracias Pepe y camareros!!

With algeciras as our âHOME away from homeâ for 9 days we started by visiting the this town first. Most people would not call it a charming town, but we are a little bit funny in that way so even in the most âuglyâ or forgotten towns we find some beauty or some interesting sites. After walking from the Corte engles (kind of shopping mall with free parking) to the plasma Alta and the old style covered fresh market we started to get a little thirsty and hungry. With TripAdvisor we saw that the no 1 ârestaurantâ was only 200m away. So the choice was fast made... bar la casita was a very authentic Spanish tapa bar... we were served with drinks encredibly fast and we also had to chose our tapas fast (they say Spanish people work slow, but I have never found this the case in the restaurant business ;). But the tapas were of good quality and taste and for only 13⬠(drinks included) we had enough âfuelâ to continue our walk about the town :)
