Find out what Bar restaurants to try in San Jose. Vibrant and packed with Victorian mansions, Costa Rica's rowdy, bustling capital was built on the profits of the coffee trade and working "golden bean" plantations still surround the city. Try freshly roasted local beans at Mercado Central. For shinier gold, visit the Museo del Oro. Many renovated landmarks now house stylish hotels. Usually viewed as a hub, rather than a destination, nightlife is concentrated in Spanish village-inspired El Pueblo. Don't miss the elegant 1897 National Theater.

Hoplers, a magical and mythical place where its corridors tell thousands of stories ... With more than 50 years old, this mansion and its garden have become an unparalleled place to visit and spend a very enjoyable time with your partner or friends ... We
This is really a hidden gem. When you get to the place, you can not imagine what´s hidden behind the gate. It is a really cool and historical place that makes you wonder about the history of it. It looks like a combination of the Titanic and a brothel, really different. They say it was owned by an italian artist? It now is a cozy place with a great variety of beers, pub food and when we were there they had a live jazz jam session going on. I didn´t think San Jose would have such a place!!

Good place to try some CR microbrew beers along with some tasty snacks, vegetarian friendly and good prices considering is located around some expensive Pubs. Very friendly personel with the knowledge to help you choose the right Ale for you. They also have a beer sampler board which I fully recommend if you are not sure what to drink, or to simply have a taste of several different ones. This place is a "must go" in the San José trendy neighborhood of Barrio Escalante!

Tasty and delicious, Mediterranean-inspired food, unique and beautiful interior, wonderful service. This restaurant well-worth checking out while in San Jose and you will not be disappointed in the experience. Slightly pricier than other venues in the city but the service, quality, and atmosphere certainly justify it.

A small coffee shop with a nice eclectic decoration... in the middle of the city. A different option for the traveler who's looking for a quiet place with people, music, good drinks and tasty food. Serving tapas, pizza, beer, wine and sangria.
Kind of tucked away but worth finding. Many good items on the menu and try the sangria. The chicken burger was delicious and made to order and the staff was exceptional.

My husband and I stumbled on this restaurant while walking and thought what the heck. It was delicious. My Spanish is horrible but they speak English here, a little broken, but still good enough for me. I would absolutely recommend this place to eat. The service was a little slow but I think it has more to do with the fact that we are in Central America and it's a slower pace here anyway(If you are in a hurry not the place to eat). The price is a little higher, but still much less than in the US for similar food. If you happen to be in the area go and sample the delicious food, you won't be disappointed. My husband thought the food was delicious and he's a very tough person to please.Thank you for your kind review. We are delighted to learn that you both were very pleased with your experience with us. We look forward to hosting you soon again.Best regards,Alessandra

Alma de Amon is a restaurant specializing in Latino Soul Food. The menu is comprised of dishes from all over the region along with craft cocktails inspired by classic Latino cocktails and local artisanal ingredients.
We ate here as part of a tour luncheon and the food was excellent and they did a great job serving us. The guacamole they served first was terrific and the roasted vegetables and sliders were both excellent. And we loved the atmosphere!

The most famous Cuban restaurant of the World. Live Music, Caribbean Food, and the Original Mojitos.
Went with a group and had a table on the second floor where signatures are all over the walls and ceilings. Interesting decor for a restaurant. The service was good and our food was excellent. Don't remember what they called it, but it was a hollowed out pineapple cut lengthwise and filled with shrimp and (?) and an excellent sauce. We shared one and it easily fed two. Price was about $21 for the meal and two drinks.

Argentine food in a lovely place in the heart of San José. We work hard to make our costumer the best meal in San Jose. Just walk in and you will not regret. We wish to see you!
This place was recommended to us by the hotel Presidente staff. We were lucky and got a table on the upper level balcony, with a good view over evening street life. Alexander, our server was very attentive and we were very pleased with the steaks and our bottle of red wine.
