Reviews on Bar food in San Jose, California, United States. Welcome to bustling San Jose, where Silicon Valley meets Spanish history and modern edifices sit alongside meticulously restored 19th-century buildings. Such is the contrast of this city rich in tradition and, thanks to the tech industry, just plain rich. Five star-hotels and fine restaurants line the streets of the restored downtown area, and the cultural scene is thriving with museums, theater and art to rival any world-class hub. Don't miss the Tech Museum of Innovation, an exploration of Silicon Valley and its impact on the area. History buffs will relish the old mansions and can delve into the city's past at the History Museum of San Jose. Save time for a round of golf or the locals' other favorite pastime, sipping coffee and people-watching at a crowded cafe.

The Blue Door Restaurant & Bar is a chic, contemporary venue for drinks & refined New American meals with a Mediterranean twist. Featuring private dining spaces and patio.
Had lunch on a Monday. Not crowded. Breakfast is served until 2 pm so I had a scramble. I don't usually like breakfast potatoes but these were delicious! My lunch companion really liked the beet salad and lamb sliders. The creme brûlée and chocolate lava cake were beautifully plated and yummy. The coffee was especially good.

I had dinner at this small restaurant and enjoyed myself. It is very hipster and very âProgressiveâ but all the same a decent place. I had the OG Dog with peppers. The barkeep recommended a medium lauger and all was well. This location is on a decent strip to walk and see people and pop in beer joints

Even with the 2 by 2 matrix that is intended to help you select a cocktail, it is a challenge to select one. Truthfully, the Silicon Valley table isnât that helpful. A conversation with one of the helpful bartenders is a better way to identify your choice. The food is average. Better to have a cocktail here and go somewhere else for dinner. You order your drinks and food at the bar.

The food was delish! It tasted just like my grandmother's Austrian cooking and like being in Vienna. In fact, strudel was best we've had. I had schnitzel and hubby had goulash. So good. Also, good German beer and mulled wine. Yum!

Firehouse No. 1 Bar & Grill is a outstanding San Jose destination when you're looking for great food, delicious drinks, and friendly people. Gastro pub quality fare made from scratch in addition to impressive daily specials. A vast and well stocked bar th
Waited a really long time to even get our menus and had to go and ask for them at the front. Then another long wait to get served. The waiter couldn't answer any questions about the menu. Overall horrible service.Food quite good. Appetizers were tasty, and the Shrimp Po Boy was excellent.

The food here seems to work really well because they come close to fine dining but restrain themselves just enough to keep the prices reasonable. The space is very large, and clearly casual as we noticed a lot of workers carrying equipment and kitchen supplies back and forth in the dining area - perhaps just the timing that we were there.I had the salmon with rice, and while the fish was seared incredibly well, the rice and vegetables seemed like an afterthought - piled up, coarsely chopped, not much flavour. The lime yogurt dressing was very skimpy as well and I would suggest changing this dish so it is better proportioned.

This place does a really good job at attempting the New Orleans feel and cuisine, from the live music to the jambalaya. I highly recommend the Blackened Chicken & Tasso Pasta, and also the Cajun Fries. They happen to be my favorite items on the menu.Hi Chris,Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We appreciate your business. Please come again soon. Let the Good Times Roll! - Jay

Quality meats, inventive sauces, toasted buns, melted cheeses and blended shakes that shout flavor.Weâre on a mission to challenge the way people think about burgers. Weâre about creative construction. We think life is about experiences. Trying stuff. Lea
The thing is, I actually LIKE this chain. I love the choice of many types of burgers (beef, chicken, vegan, turkey, mahi mahi, another vegetarian one, and I think others) and the many options for buns, toppings, and so on. It's a lot of fun to fill out the menu. And the people were nice. But why when I order does it take like 30-40 minutes for the food to arrive? For a burger. A very cool burger, sure. But COME ON! And it's not once. Every couple of years we think of coming here, we do so, and then remember why we've stayed away.We ate at this chain in LA and had no problem. I don't know what the deal is here. But whatever it is â it certainly spoiled my day.PS â As mentioned in other reviews: It sure isn't cheap!

Attentive, friendly service. Seemed overworked ( hard to track down) but still excellent service with a smile. Located on the main drag of Santana row, close to multi story parking structure. Great beer selection, high energy. Bar food, like burgers, wings, nachos, fried stuff are all good. Higher price menu items that require more delicate cooking method and more attention from the cooks are not worth venturing into. But that is not this place is known for. Stay with the beer and bar food and you will be extremely happy. Even though the sitting process after you reported to the host or hostess stand is a bit chaotic, come on in, enjoy the friendly service and get involved with the energy of the patrons provide your own energy, it is a happy place.
