We are a traditional English pub serving both good English 'Pub Grub' and delicious authentic Portuguese food. Our ales are fresh and local, whilst we serve a wide range of ales, spirits and wines.
This was our first visit to this pub and except for those out in the hidden away beer garden we were the only people there for two hours. One in our group was having his first attempt at eating out since throat cancer treatment and chemo. He is still unable to eat and can only drink liquids. We were all horrified to find the menu did not have any soup. The waitress saved the day, when we explained the predicament. Off she went to instruct the chef to make soup just for our friend. They kept apologising for the wait but the Food was well worth waiting for. The huge ribs for each of the three of us came with a generous jug of sauce and chunky fresh chips. One person had the fish and chips, which was also excellent value. Burgers were on the menu, including two for vegetarians and two vegetarian pasta dishes. We had a splendid time and know we will all recommend this pub for its excellent food. However, I can not thank the waitress strongly enough for her excellent, thoughtful and caring service which made our friends reunion possible. Without her determination to find a solution we all may have gone hungry or elsewhere. This action was way and beyond many in the catering industry and The Avon Brewery are lucky to have her on their staff.

At the heart of Salisburyâs historic Butcherâs Row, The Ox Row Inn boasts succulent steaks and an outstanding range of ales and wines for those seeking respite from all that the city has to offer. Whether by the fire or in the sun, allow yourself a rare (
Nice ambiance... but unfortunately the food is awful.. . fish was all batter.. so greasy it made you feel sick and the most expensive roast dinner in Salisbury was shocking... very beige.. tasteless and small.. won't eat there againHi,Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we appreciate all feedback.I'm sorry that on this occasion you didn't feel we delivered our usual exceptionally high standard. Our fish and chips is usually very highly regarded and I apologise that you found the roast was not to your taste. With so many items on the plate - meat, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, red cabbage, spring greens, roasted carrots, swede puree, cauliflower cheese, extra gravy - I appreciate that the individual items may have appeared small. I would like to reassure you though, that we are always very happy to provide extra for those with larger appetites and strive for our guests to leave feeling happy and full.I do hope you'll pop in and give us another try soon. All the best,Claire

One of the city's most historic pub, and listed on CAMRA's National Inventory as one of the most historic interiors in the UK, The Haunch is packed with history, reputedly haunted by the ghost of the cheating card player, whose mummified hand is displayed
Great place with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Great food and even better beer. London Glory is fantastic. Nice views of the town from the upper windows. Good staff and pleasant roomy venue.

A fresh take on the English Ale House of old. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner matched to fine wines, craft beers, excellent non alcoholic drinks as well as a proper range of draught beers. We have a lovely garden with huts that can be booked for larger g
We were looking for somewhere for lunch, having visited the Cathedral, and spotted this old inn, which has been refurbished in a contemporary eclectic style and has an excellent menu, different to the normal predictable pub fare, including plaice and macaroni cheese in addition to the old stalwarts like fish and chips.Being a Tuesday lunchtime, it was relatively quiet inside - the garden area outside was quite busy. Service was friendly and fast and the food was well-cooked and enjoyable.Ten out of ten!Ian - thank you so much for such a lovely review - perfectly strive what we are all trying to achieve every day ... hope to see you again soon

Decent pub food. Nothing special. For pub food unusual small portions, but that's fine. Service was ok after i finally got to order. But that took some time even though they notoced me and it wasn't busy. The place itself looks like what you'd expect from an old rural English pub. So big plus on the atmosphere

A friendly local in the heart of Salisbury city centre with a sweeping array of delicious drinks and some scrumptious food.
The food was fine and the service OK but the lunchtime deal is a farce ! They advertise 2 courses for £9 .. we specifically asked about this only to find afterwards we were charged full price and a waitress whilst apologizing profusely did nothing, claiming she didn't realize we wanted the £9 deal, which only applied to the small not the regular fish & chips. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNINGHi,We are terribly sorry regarding the misunderstanding of the menu , we are currently reviewing the Icons on the menu which denote the set price lunch menu, I am glad to know that the waitress did apologize and by way of a good will gesture I would like to invite you back for a complimentary Fish and Chips, please call me to arrange this and we hope to hear from you soon.Kind RegardsJamie Framesmith.

Craft Bar at the Salisbury Arms: where bar meets pub meets cafe in a welcoming, informal and friendly social space. Our 'street food' garden kitchen cooks great value hand crafted burgers, made with fresh ingredients from local quality butchers and artisa
Must note that this review is based on a visit to have a couple of pints of lager and is firmly driven by my personal lager preference.Service was fine, lager selection was pony (Warsteiner and some 4% British tosh). My advice if you like lager is go round the corner to Ox Row and get a pint of Frontier, so much betterHi Rob, sorry that our lager selection wasn't really to your taste, we get a lot of positive feedback on the Freedom 4% lager, and the Warsteiner too, but we all have our own individual tastes and sadly our lager selection wasn't to yours. As you have said this isn't really a review on our bar and I would have thought a much better use of your time would have been to review the Ox Row and tell them how amazing the Frontier Lager is (also British by the way)!

Good central position. This ancient old building made a great stopover on Halloween! Spooky low beams and sloping floors but modern facilities, king bed, new bathroom with shower and roll-top bath. Windows open - although rather noisey as on main road!Pity no decorations in bar/restaurant to acknowledge the Halloween theme and only gas fires! Still we didn't eat here but in the fabulous spooky Haunch of Venison where Halloween fun reigned!Beware room #14 if tall as ducking under low beam across room! But otherwise very comfy. Have to unload quickly on double yellow lines outside. Parking ticket for £6 from hotel for public car park close by. Staff extremely helpful - taking bags up to room etc. Lovely breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, delicious avocado and poached egg! Again good service and friendly staff. Good stay - will definitely return!
