Giverny is a village of 500, so no Michelin restaurants. This is the best in the area and objectively very good. The setting is idea: just outside Monetâs garden and home. The inside is nice and the outside dining is terrific. Like most restaurants, your reaction depends on what you order. We each ordered one of the burgers on the menu, and we ordered the way the French eat meat - sanglant, medium rare. We each felt our burgers were the best we had ever had. Mine came with slow cooked onions, tomatoes, lettuce and Normandy cheese. Mine had fries: twice fried in duck fat ... perfect. My wife ordered a side salad which was fresh and lightly dressed. We eat burgers maybe twice each year, but if they were all like these, it would be once each month.Good afternoon, Thank you for your great feedback. We are really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and the burgersAll your great comments have been passed onto our team.We look forward to welcoming you back soon. We were staying at Hotel Normandy so we just walked across the road to Bistro Montmartre and went in without even trying to translate the menu. No formule just a list but it was a Sunday. I went for entrecote with gorganzola, but no entrecote so offered rump which was fine â¬18.50, my husband had the Cassoulet Normandie â¬12. We asked for the wine list and we were just asked - red or white, 250 or 500 cl. That was it - no decisions necessary. Fine by us. The first carafe went rather quickly so we ordered another â¬9.80 each. For dessert we had a Brulee â¬6.20 and a white chocolate mousse â¬6.80 which we thought might have had banana in it.It was an enjoyable meal and the restaurant was buzzy and the staff friendly.

Pub-restaurant, you enjoy the mix between nice atmosphere and taste !
We came in a bit early for dinner, the staff was finishing up their formal meal just before opening. I cannot commend their professionalism enough. Everyone was spot on with their service. The restaurant's interior has real ambiance, it's an older restaurant that gives off an air of refinement with its timeless decor.. The old mahogany bar is a work of art. There is an inner patio and courtyard that provides wonderful outdoor dining, especially when the evening is warm like it was tonight. We had drinks before dinner which were very good, and as for dinner - excellent fare. The fish of the day was very nicely prepared cod and the Normandy Burger was cooked perfectly as were the accompanying fries. The price point was very reasonable. We had no room left for dessert which I'm sure would also be wonderful. Highly recommend.

You get the impression that everyone else in the bar is a local. Patron very helpful and food excellent and large portions. Classic French bar/brasserie and excellent value.

Compact choice of "plat du jour" but food is good, hot and comes quickly ( after all, most people will be in a rush to return to work ). Service, however was a little chaotic, although the two young girls were running around, there seemed little coordination in their system".Admittedly, it was busy, the Patron behind the bar doing the drinks and checks, and the female doing the running around....!
