Things to do in Rockport
Reading a Review earlier reminded me I had Iet time get away from me (meaning I forgot) on posting about our visit to The Rack (3817 Hwy 35 S, Rockport) last Sunday afternoon! Lots of reviews on The Rack..some really positive, some not so much, but I think itâs one of those places everyone should give it a try! Based on one review (Jerry Russell?) I had the Club, omg, absolutely delicious, one of the best Iâve had! The fries were delicious as well, not the run-of-the-mill garden-variety! Hubby had the Wings, his comment, âHmmm, kinda dry but the beer sure is cold, potato salad Okâ. The Owner, Tawni, came over to talk and it was a nice and interesting conversation! She takes very much to heart the comments she reads, giving her perspective, and it is obvious she is working very hard to make the restaurant successful. She does have others in the state! Miranda was our server, well mannered and extremely attentive, making sure of our needs and if everything tasted OK! I think this is just one of those restaurants that everyone needs to give it a try, this was our first visit and definitely one that we will come back to!

This eatery was ideally situated for our location and needs.... and they served us up some really great fried catfish.... but, alas, the cafe-bar was full of smokers sitting near us during dinnertime. One of our party of three is very sensitive to cigarette smoke and so... after eating quickly, we vacated the premises and won't be able to come back. We didn't realize that Texas must allow smoking in bars and maybe in restaurants, too.

Congrats to the Poor Man's Country Club to bring the first public restaurant to open after hurricane Harvey. We lunched there today on the Tuesday Special, three beef taco plate, and the blue cheese chicken sandwich. Excellent service, no wait, only problem for me personally was the cigarette smoking. Great view of the bay and lots of television.

Visited 495 with family. We're from Maryland. Menu states "Maryland" crab cake. It truly is a Maryland crab cake. Delicious, just like home. The restaurant decor is welcoming and homey. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. If you're in the area, a visit to 495 Chesapeake Eats is a must.

I ordered fried shrimp which was cooked to perfection. The sides were pinto beans very tasty and cole slaw which was different, I didn't like it. The service was great. The noise level was moderate to where we could carry on a normal conversation. If you are looking for good seafood this is the place. This restaurant is out of Rockport and since I was not familiar with the location had to use GPS to find it.

Established in Fulton, Texas March of 2012. Serving the best local Gulf Seafood, prime steaks, Boars Head brand deli sandwiches, fresh soups, chowders, homemade desserts, wine and ice cold beer. After hurricane Harvey in 2017 we relocated into the neighbo
We had dinner here, about 7:30 and there was ample tables available. It was a nice size restaurant, with white linen tablecloths and the decor was pleasant and simple. The waiter was very helpful with our questions about the menu items and was attentive without hovering. They do have a wine list, though we did not have wine that evening. The menu variety wasn't huge, but still covered most of the basics. I had the broiled scallops and my husband opted for the grilled grouper. We each had salad and a baked potato with our meal. They had onion soup on the menu but when I asked about it, the waiter informed me that they typically don't serve it until around the fall, when the weather gets cooler. They brought rolls to our table and then our salads. The salads were served cold with a nice mix of greens and veggies. Our entree came out a short while later and both plates were sizzling. My husbands grouper was nice and thick and a good size portion. My scallops were simmering in butter and about the size of half dollars; not huge, but about two bites per scallop. They were very fresh, but there wasn't a very strong flavor to them, so the garlic butter they were served in was needed. Our server was very nice and very efficient. Don't expect this to be a cheap restaurant, but their prices are about par with similar seafood restaurants in the area. We enjoyed our meal and had a good experience.
