We were hungry and tired after visiting the windmills so we picked this restaurant which was the closest one. Even though it was after the lunch rush, we still had to wait nearly 45 minutes for our food. We ordered the salmon fillet with fries and salad and the chicken schnitzel with fries and salad. I think they ran out of salad-- it was probably two bites at best. These two dishes were over-priced at 16,50 Euros (if I recall correctly). We also ordered the noon special (best value - in my opinion), the hamburger, and the Toasti Buena (focaccia with prosciutto, pesto, and parmesan cheese (large enough to share). After we ordered, we realized that there was a whole other side of the menu that had pancakes, and saw that other people had ordered pancakes. Overall, the food was underwhelming but it does its job if you are starving after a visit to the windmills. SIDE NOTE: the bathrooms are down a set of steep winding steps so if you or someone you are with has mobility issues, you can go next door to the souvenir shop on the corner. There is an elevator there but a staff member must help you and it's 0,50 Euros to use the toilet at the souvenir shop.

You know what to expect when the menu is in 7 languages (or so) and our fear became true. Pancakes are very small and the ham-cheese sandwich (tosti) was burned beyond recognition. The terrace looks like a greenhouse and is without ambiance. The problem is that there are not many restaurants nearby, so choices are limited, which can well be the rescue of De Klok....

As other reviewers noted the location is fantastic on a summer day and at the same itâs unfortunate that most of the vendors stop selling food around 8-9pm. But even so, come the beer. The on-site brewery brews some of the most delicious beer I have tasted in a long time. The menu is overwhelming, but the positive is that youâll definitely find something you like.
