Everything was very plain and service was quite slow. I had chicken fajitas and was only given chicken, onions and peppersâno tortillas, salsa, sour cream, etc. My husband has fish tacosâfish on a tortilla and thatâs it. No sauce or coleslaw on it. They may have cheap beer but forget the food.

Bar & restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily as well as late night plates until 2:30am. Nightly events such as live music, sporting events, open mic night, karaoke night, free salsa classes, and much more. In the heart of the town in front
There are so many choices in PV that itâs hard to recommend anything that is just average. The food was ok-nachos, burrito, quesadilla. Perhaps other items would have been more satisfying. Weâd been eating typical food for a week though so decided to try something different. The items were good but pretty bland. We added chicken to all three and it was very tasty but there were little bones that must have gotten chopped up with the chicken. Understandable but not very appetizing unfortunately.

The Point..A different kind of Sports Bar.Sure we have sports on all (6) of our T.V's all the time...and sure we have hot wings and (U.S.D.A. beef) burgers...and sure we have ice cold beer and micro brew on tap, but did you know that we have local Caribbe
Hubby and I enjoyed lunch here one evening in late July. My chicken quesadilla and onion rings were delicious and hubby enjoyed his burger. The outdoor roadside seating had limited shade but indoor seating was also available. Parking was available nearby. Good service, slow-cooked food, reasonable prices ($30 range, no alcohol). Credit cards are accepted for payment. We will return when we visit Puerto Viejo again!*Thank you for reading my review! Please click the âthumbs-upâ below. :)

We serve a delicious selection of gourmet burgers and Craft Beers with an additional menu of great meat and seafood options. Open from 7am until 10. 30pm every day of the week except Wednesdays when we are closed , also there are 3 live music nights a wee
I have eaten here about once a week for almost two months while living in Puerto Viejo. The food is fantastic, and the fish in chips were particularly special. Fresh Caribbean fish helps . They also stock craft beers and the staff are really friendly and great. There is also live music here a couple of times a week. Pura vida

My girlfriend and I went here for drinks and had a good time playing giant jenga, but don't go for the drinks themselves. She enjoyed her daiquiris (free for chicas during happy hour!!) and I enjoyed the worst mojito I've ever had. Maybe they just make them differently here? All in all, good atmosphere and a story to take home, and a happy girlfriend.

While traveling thru Costa Rica. I had to return to my favorite town of Puerto Viejo after 15 years. The food scene here has only gotten better but the prices are a bit more expensive than what I remembered. But my favorite place by far for breakfast and lunch was The Hangover. I actually just stumbled across this little gem while exploring the town. Itâs one block off the main road. There menu is what drew me inside. The menu is fun, creative, affordable and delicious! The service and decor is warm and welcoming. I ended up eating here every afternoon while in PV. All the food here I tried was slamming and paired perfect with the sweet reggae tunes! Who ever opened this place knows what there doing and thatâs coming from a person whoâs been in the restaurant game for 20 years. Hope they make it because restaurant bizz tough. Definitely should give The Hangover a try while in Puerto Viejo!

Hubby and I enjoyed dinner, and a take-out lunch, at Banana Azul in July when we rented a house nearby on Playa Negra Beach (reviewed separately) and it was recommended by the owners. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, great food, friendly service, free wifi, and reasonable prices. It also had a (free) locked and fenced parking area. We had sandwiches for lunch and for dinner, I had lasagna and hubby had mahi mahi. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed our meals. We also enjoyed the soup and salad buffet at dinner. The total bill for dinner was about $50 and they accepted credit cards. The gardens are lovely and we returned during the day to walk through and enjoy the grounds more fully in the daylight. We enjoyed the koi pond that stretches the length of the dining area with its many fish and turtles. The garden had beautiful paths, plants, and trees. The beach area also looked beautiful, although we didnât relax there. We recommend dining at Banana Azul and will return when we visit Puerto Viejo in the future!*Thank you for reading my review! Many places closed for lunch so we decided on this place for a quick lunch. I had the fish n chips, chips well done. Wife had the trio dip of salsa hummus and guacamole with corn chips and pita bread.Fish was OK, a bit mushy, frozen? chips spot on. Wife's dip were good but the corn chips were very stale. Pita bread was fresh though.Waiter was pleasant and friendly, forgot his name (Philly) but did a good job. He is why I gave 4 stars, otherwise it was just average.

We had dinner at Soulsurfer and as weâre both vegetarian weâve tried the different veggie burgers with the wedges. I have to say these were by far the best veggie burgers Iâve ever had!! The location is stunning, right on the beach and youâre sitting with your feet in the sand while listening to the sound of the ocean. Michelle is super friendly, the food is fresh and goes fast and the price for the amount of food is absolutely fair. Iâll come back for sure!!!
