Ptuj (pronounced [ˈptuːi̯] ( listen); German: Pettau; Latin: Poetovium/Poetovio) is a town in northeastern Slovenia that is the seat of the Municipality of Ptuj. Ptuj, the oldest recorded city in Slovenia, has been inhabited since the late Stone Age and developed from a Roman military fort. Ptuj was located at a strategically important crossing of the Drava River, along a prehistoric trade route between the Baltic Sea and the Adriatic. Traditionally the area was part of the Styria region and became part of the Austria-Hungarian Empire. In the early 20th century the majority of the residents were of German extraction, but today the population is largely Slovenes. Residents of Ptuj are known as Ptujčani.

We offer wide range of international and domestical food. Our specialty is steaks and fish on charcoal grill. We also offer over 30 different kinds of home-made ice cream and desserts.

Very good. Be sure to taste a local pumpkin seed oil with backed bread or on salad also. Melas are very tastey, salads good and srvice fast despite crowd. Offers average pizazs too, not bad but nothing to be loud about. I have also superb taste for cakes and sweets, and this place dissapoints, while cakes are really just some colored cream with no real taste. same goes for ice cream.Outside terrace, but in high seasson especially over the weekend expect crowd or no free table. A small playground nearby. 10min walk from old town Ptuj. You can come with a car also, while they offer big free parking.So jump in for a good lunch or dinner.

Restaurant Rozika was recommended me by local... and it was the best choice. We had lunch there - all ordered meals were very tasty (seasonal meals with chantarella mushrooms) , their size was really big, waiter was kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I was unable to taste their choice of wines (driving :-( ), but my wife liked it very much too.Great place to eat, best recommendations!

Located on a cute main street surrounded by beautiful storefront, old architecture with a view of a church and close to the castle. You can sit on the sidewalk cafe and enjoy a coffee or step inside for an afternoon beer with the localsâ¦of course you can have coffee inside and beer outside too. ;-) The interior is warm and cozy with interesting wall hangings and a cute little bar with space in the back with small tables. We went for a nightcap and ended up having multiple spritzers and drinks. The service is friendly and attentive. We felt welcomed and and we really enjoyed this place. Local beers, local wines, spiritsâ¦and coffee too of course. We will definitely go back when we return to Ptuj!
