The Strafford reopened in August following an extensive refurbishment and under new independent management. The refurbishment aims to breathe a new lease of life into the pub while maintaining its character and tradition. With a selection of ales includin
This place has a great atmosphere. It has one of the biggest beer gardens which is superbly landscaped. I really like how they have renovated what was an old neglected pub into a vibrant gastro venue. The menu is fairly limited but good. The staff are friendly and professional. I would recommend going there

Went for a family meal having previously enjoyed the food at The Candlestick. Sadly the day we visited the chef must have been having an off day. The fish and chips were soggy and greasy, the peas dry and shrivelled. The veggie lasagne was heavy and uninspiring. It's always embarrassing leaving food on the plate, but it was just so hard to finish such a disappointing meal. I felt bad recommending it. I know The Candlestick can do much better.

Taking my 2 grandchildren there for lunch was very disappointing.Although the children found the tractor in the garden fascinating, the garden was very noisy due to a very badly sited air conditioning fan in the middle of the garden tables. The food was reasonable but the children's portions were bigger than the adults. The prices were very high for the light drinks considering there was no service at the tables.

The oldest coaching inn in Barnet, there has been a pub on this site since 1553. Beams, exposed brickwork, wood panelling and open fires gives an authentic feel. There is also a large, well maintained outside courtyard drinking area. Not a restaurant as s
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit today! . Warm and friendly welcome, excellent service and the food was great. We had steak pie and the kids had burgers - great sized portions and everything was hot and delicious. Looking forward to our next visit.

Brought our children and another family here for Sunday lunch as we had heard good things. Staff were so friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The starters were excellent and Sunday roasts delicious. We will be back!

The Old Manor restaurant with separate bar is set among the beautiful beams of a stunning 13th century building. Complemented by fresh, seasonal & sustainable home cooked food, extensive wine list, fantstic beer range and range of well kept cask ales has
Oh dear, back to mediocre Sunday Roast.... I am always horrified when an establishment cannot produce a decent Sunday roast it really isn't that difficult!Main criteria of a Sunday roast crispy roast potatoes, crispy chicken skin and a thick gravy.... oh and if you're having cauliflower cheese they nice runny cheese sauce over the cauliflower!!Once again the old manor failed on every single one of those points.... a couple opposite from us also complained about the gravy and the cauliflower cheese so it isn't just us!We arrived at 12:20 and were greeted with leathery potatoes, uncooked chicken skin, watery gravy and congealed cheese on top of dried cauliflower. Needless to say we won't be going back here again anytime soon.... such a shame!
