We stopped in for lunch on Memorial Day on our way back to Nebraska. Several places were closed. They were fairly busy, but we were seated promptly. Waitress was attentive. Food was good. Overall enjoyable
Top 10 American food in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, United States
We are Poplar Bluff's first, and at this time, only Micro Brewery. We have 30 taps and half of those are usually supplied with our beers we brew on sight. We have a great atmosphere inside and a large back deck and front porch for those that enjoy the out
Wife and I decided to try this place today for late lunch. Arrived about 1:30 and had the place to ourselves. Decor is nice and service was friendly. Menu is short for lunch but we were ok with the selection. We ordered a pretzel cheese appetizer which was delivered hot with a big cup of delicious white queso. When we ordered we were wanting to split a chef salad and a Bronze Owl burger. Server offered to plate the split salad separate with separate dressings. The food was fresh and tasty and well presented. Only negative was the loaded potato salad was very heavy. Might have been better served heated? I rarely give a 5 star but I'll hand out a high 4 star for this place.Thank you so much for the compliments, we appreciate all you feedback and hope you will come back and see us soon!
We waited for about five minutes upon entering the front of the restaurant. No one was manning the host/hostess stand or the takeout area to the left of the front door. A waitress passed by and ignored us. We called out to her and she acted surprised that no one had spoken to us yet. She quickly seated us. Our waitress in our seating area was very nice and attentive. The food, however, was horrendous. I ordered a (grilled) chicken garden salad. Much of lettuce was brown and slimy. The chicken was bone dry with a rock hard skin. When you hit your chicken with a fork, it shouldn't sound like hitting a drum. Food took about 40 minutes to arrive. Also, side note... I had never been to Missouri before and didn't know that they allow smoking in restaurants. Gross!

We had been traveling for three days and had several detours. Didnât get to our hotel until after 10pm. We were extremely tired and hungry but didnât want a full heavy meal. Got directions to Applebeeâs and away we went for half price apps! Just what we needed. The servers and the service was great and the food was very good. We can always depend on Applebeeâs whether we are at home or on the road!!
