Hotel, bar and restaurant located in Harlech oposite Royal St Davidâs Golf Course and underneath Harlech Castle.
A great find for food and service - particularly recommend the " duo of lamb" with the best seared lamb rump I have had in a very long time. This is a good restaurant rather than a pub grub venue.

The style of cooking is seasonal Modern British with a contemporary look for the adventurous along with classic British Fayre, for those who enjoy traditional meals at lunch or in the evening, served in the restaurant, bar, lounge or garden from 12.00pm t
This is a very traditional white tablecloth dining room in a very traditional hotel. We had the prawn and crab linguine - the portions were very big but quite bland. The pasta was cooked well enough but the crab was pretty tasteless. As the room filled up the servers could not quite cope. Not bad, but not fantastic.Thank you for your three-star review. Yes, we are a traditional restaurant in a traditional hotel and we are enjoyed by hotel guests and locals alike. We are surprised you found your linguine bland as this is a very popular dish on our menu. Our restaurant does get busy, and we never quite know when the busy times will be. So perhaps the evening you were dining, we may have been busier that we were expecting and not had quite enough staff on. This is an area that we are addressing as the restaurant is extremely popular and getting busier and busier.

Having looked in Porthmadog for food and not finding anything suitable or open we stumbled across the Union Inn, and what a treat. Service was quick and friendly and the food was fantastic with a very generous portion. We will be back before we leave for home.

Has improved since last visit. Only pub left in Penrhyn. For sale at present. If bought out of Burtonwood's hands it could have potential, as a tied house not much. Stella Artois had run dry. No food available. No outside space.

Visited Porthmadog after visiting Carnavon Castle. Beautiful village with small train operating from Carnavon and beyond worth the trip . Was there during bank holiday long weekend. Not as crowded . All of northern wales is beautiful. The Ship was very good . Worth a visit but all the shops in town are very quaint and people very friendly.

Just turned up at 155pm for food. We didn't know they stop serving at 2pm. We had just climbed snowdon and were a bit hungry! The bar person was rude and despite having just taken an order from a lady , flatly refused to even ask the chef if we could have some chips. Last time we go there.

Set in Snowdonia National Park, a family run business which offers heartily home cooked food. We pride ourselves on quality locally sourced produce and a homely atmosphere with views from the restaurant overlooking Snowdon.
Two minutes walk from where we stayed at The Estuary Lodge. Made to feel very welcome on arrival on a Friday evening and we hadn't booked. Excellent atmosphere, food, drinks and service. Food is of an excellent standard and large portions which we all enjoyed. Thank You H & K.
