TAPS why'd you have to do us like that....hopes were high, but were shot down and diminished in lightening speed within minutes of our arriving. I had mentioned to my husband, in passing, that I wanted to try TAPS and their nachos. From the multiple pictures I'd seen they looked quite delicious. So a few days before my birthday my handsome husband informed that we were headed to MGM/TAPS. I was thrilled....mmmm...nachos were all that I was thinking. Hahaha! Now mind you my husband is completely unmethodical when it comes to etiquette and the such. So imagine my surprise when he told me that he'd actually made reservations! Wow, what a nice shock. Once we arrived at the restaurant/hostess stand we were met with disappointment. My husband told the hostess chic that we had made reservations, she said, with much attitude in her voice, "Oh, thats something that MGM does, we don't acknowledge those reservations...." HUH and what!??? No sense whatsoever. Seriously, I've come a LONG way, because homegirl would have gotten a small piece of me back in my IDGAF days. Chile.....I decided to let my husband handle the situation, which he sincerely appreciated because he knows me all too well. After a 20 minute or so wait we were finally shown to an odd 4 person table in the middle of nowhere in the restaurant. Uhmmm no. We immediately asked our kind server to move us to a side booth, which he promptly accommodated. I'm very sure he appreciated the hefty tip we left, specifically for him!!! Our drinks and eats came out quickly.....see below. Nachos: Save yourself the trouble. These were meant for a gullible, maybe drunken individual. I knew better....they had microwaved the chips with cheese, and at an attempt to appear fresh, they'd put sour cream, salsa, and other tidbit items on top. I could only manage a few bites. It was terrible.....I just can't. Deviled Eggs: Pretty good. I ate all 5 eggs. Partly because I was hungry considering the nachos were such an epic (huge) failure. Uggggg. Salmon Entrée: My husband said the salmon was quite tasty and seasoned well, along with the sautéed vegetables. Macaroni and Cheese: I thought these looked and tasted like something straight out the ghett...sorry I meant box. It was another letdown. All in all, our server was the best part of our first experience at TAPS. Unless I've had one too many libations I won't be back. The only way I can see myself here is in a pinch or non-sober condition because at that point one can care less what they eat. Tsk, Tsk.

The locals favorite on the Old Town waterfront since 1979. Serving scratch made American fare in a relaxed environment.
Look, I get it. The manager has a job to do and he did it. We were boisterous and excited about the topic of discussion. So, the manager wanted us to leave. But, it just hurt my feelings - kind of felt a little singled out. Maybe Iâm crazy but thatâs how it felt. The hummus I ordered was very bland. So tasteless.

So I live in DC, but have a son in DC and a brother in Alexandria. My brother, who knows All the best places to go in his adopted home town, took me to Volaâs, and since my first visit it has become a staple on my DC itinerary. I love it for lunch...sitting outside with oldies music playing. We start with oysters...one of each...and Sangria. For lunch, anything on the menu is great! The service is friendly and professional. Joyous...that is the best way to describe the experience! Thanks so much for the kind words, Lois! We're so happy to be a part of your DC itinerary, and to know that we bring some extra joy to your trips to see family. We'll look forward to your next visit!

While in Washington DC, I really wanted to make a trip to Old Town Alexandria and stroll along King Street because I had read so many reviews about the fun area. We opted for Daniel O'connell's Irish Restaurant. I had the fish and chips because the reviews and waitress said they were a favorite. My husband had a steak and cheese sandwich. The fish was just OK. They were cod, which is pretty flavorless and greasy. I should have asked what kind of fish they used because I am a fan of halibut, but not cod. They were good, tons of greasy breading, which I took off to save calories. The fries are steak fries, which are also my least favorite fries. Husband said his sandwich was Ok, nothing to rave over. We sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon. Lisa, our waitress was awesome and very friendly and accomodating.

We had Dinner at the Cadillac Ranch when were attending the conference nearby in August. We were a group of 4 so the variety of choices on the menu was great. My husband and I both chose the pasta dish and we both loved it. Would definitely order it again. Our friends both ordered steaks and said they were good. The atmosphere is nice -- a bit fun. Service was okay but not super great hence the 4 star. Our server never returned after the meal arrived to check if we needed anything or give us an opportunity to re-order drinks. We had to flag someone down to get the bill. But overall a good experience and I would recommend.

We ate a great meal here for brunch. I am not a brunch fan usually but we had their french toast and it was great. The atmosphere and decor were fun and prices reasonable. However, we did have a very noisy large group near us that was a bit annoying. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed my brunch.

Located at National Harbor The Walrus Oyster & Ale House prides itself on serving the finest domestic seafood and freshly shucked oysters available. Moderately priced and casual in approach, guests enjoy spectacular views of the Potomac River and Old Town
Grabbed a quick drink and some apps on our way to Top Golf during happy hour. The oysters were $1.50 each and the oyster rockefellers were only $2 each. They were delicious!!! We kept ordering more of the baked oysters. The dungenous crab was not our favorite. Not anything like blue crabs or Alaskan Snow Crabs. Bartenders were friendly and attentive.

My girlfriend and I went there for lunch. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. We were both craving Fried Green Tomatoes. We both had their Fried Green Tomato Salad and a Deviled Egg. We both raved about our meal. Since I am not a big Arugula person, Eubin, our great waiter, got me some Remoulade Sauce. What a treat!

We were anxious to find something fun to do in the evening and this fit the bill perfectly. We reserved a table in advance (5/pp) & arrived at 7 to order drinks and snacks before the show. PS- I would recommend eating before-hand as the food was not great. Servers were very friendly and accommodating all along the way. Not a big crowd the night we visited but we made up for it in enthusiasm. Very talented piano players & overall musicians who played many of our requests, although it's clear that they have some favorites planned, just in case. Don't miss this show if you're in town!! Joanne, this review is the highlight of my morning (wait, plus the Nats win in OT last night). Thanks a bunch for taking the time to post and being so detailed. We appreciate you!
