Nice decor and terrace wir-th open fire and view on the beach/sea. Nice place to drink something or for teatime. I would NOT recommend tough to eat there: not enough choices in the dishes, only a few snacks, several salads only available during summertime, suggestions only mentioned at the entrance, ... For sure there're plenty of better places than Chagall to eat in Nieuwpoort.

Many restaurants at the Belgian coast seem to have decided that removing a maximum of shrimps from their shrimp croquettes is the best way to contain their costs; it might but it is also very likely to make their customers unhappy; this place did exactly the opposite, continuing to make excellent croquettes full of shrimps...exactly as customers want them. Well done!

Had the scampi mozaiek. Told the waiter we didn't have that much time so this very tasty dish was delivered fast, but with a smile. Waiter checked up on us to see if everything was okay, which it most certainly was.

We were looking for a meal and found the Au X nestled down a side street just off the main drag.. Very good quality food and a wide selection of Belgian beers on offer.... Choice of inside or streetside tables added to the ambience on a very warm September evening
