Delicious home cooked food. Friendly hardworking staff. Only minor criticism of loud noisy locals hogging the bar. We couldn't hear each other talking. Did put us off a bit as it spoiled the atmosphere. Would go back if we could sit well away from that area as that was the only thing that spoilt it.

Called in for a bite to eat Sunday, although we hadnât booked they accommodated us even though they were fairly busy. I had lasagne and my fella had fish and chips. It was all beautifully cooked and very tasty. The service was quick and the staff were polite. I have no complaints at all

A delightful 19th Century coaching inn with a comfortable lounge, bar and dining area. The inn has recently undergone a huge refurbishment to bring the building back to life. Local produce and a lovely setting are the hallmarks of The Waggon Inn; with all
The goods:Check in was easy & the staff were very friendly & helpful Room was clean, well decorated, with comfortable beds (we were in the twin)Good bathroom with great shower Free parking out the backGreat location for walks (canal & river) + lots of nice shop & cafesThe not so goods:This place would have been 5* except for the noise; from the pub, the doors banging & the extractor fan in the kitchen, which was below us. Iâm not sure what they can do about most of this, although, do you need heavy closers on the bathroom door?Overall, we enjoyed our one night stay &, for the area, thought it was good value for money. The noise would have annoyed us if we had stayed any longer however

We ordered the beer battered haddock and chips from the senior/small appetite menu. It didn't disappoint - lovely main meal, couldn't fault it. For dessert I ordered cheesecake, but this was interpreted as cheeseboard, so there was a little delay in getting the correct dessert. When it came it looked wonderful but unfortunately the base was so hard I couldn't cut it with spoon or fork and almost broke the plate trying! I left the base and ate the rest which was very tasty. It was our first visit here and the jury's out on whether we'll go back. May go back for the haddock and chips though!Thank you for your review. We are very glad you enjoyed the fish and chips, it is a very popular dish on both our smaller appetites menu and main menu. We apologize for the chefs interpretation of cheesecake as cheese, but glad it was sorted out quickly.Hopefully this did not spoil your memory of us and you will be back to join us again!

Me and my wife visted here this evening for a meal. My wife had the carvery and i tried the steak and stilton pie. The food was cooked to perfection and excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the service was spot on. I would highly reccommend this modern ,clean venue and will most certainly be going back.

1st visit was by chance. Someone had recommended this place , we were passing and called in on the off chance there was a table. The pub was busy and friendly, we were seated and chose the Friday fish deal. Best fish and chips weâve had in as long as I can remember, perfectly crisp batter, no grease, proper chips and mushy peas. Iâm guessing the tartare sauce was homemade, wether or not it was thick and creamy and delicious. We came away a little gobsmacked to be honest because it was so good. We returned a week later with friends. This time I had cheese and onion pie as did my friend. Once again I must say you would be hard pushed to find better. The boys had a mixed grill and giant fish and chips. All fabulous. 3rd visit I took my mum who had complained she couldnât get decent fish and chips anywhere! She conceded she had after tucking into hers, chosen from the light menu. She followed it with crumble and custard. I had a mouthwatering Eton mess. Definitely my new favourite place.

The White Hart is a quintessentially English Inn with Rooms. Heart warming log fires in winter, a wine list for the discerning palate yet affordable, great range of cask ales at pub prices and a 12 strong kitchen team. Bread is baked daily on the premises
I went with a party of 7 and we were all first time visitors and we were all very happy with both the excellent menu and friendly staff who were always willing to help. Great varied menu and excellent wine to.

Visited on Wednesday evening for dinner with the family. The restaurant was very busy as usual but we were greeted and seated within minutes by the friendly staff.Three of our party opted for the famed cheese and onion pie with chunky chips and beans. Huge portions of deliciousness were quickly served up and demolished. The fish and chips was equally scrumptious ...freshly fried haddock in a crispy beer batter with a generous portion of mushy peas. Price wise it's not the cheapest but can't fault the quality and service. Be back soon
