Like stepping into a Northwoods supper club. Friendly atmosphere and old world decor are combined with all the standard dinner options including a passable Sunday brunch and better than average Friday Fish Fry -- all highlighted by a pleasant garden view.

The flight of their craft beers is a good place to start, even if like me, you haven't been a big craft beer person for awhile. There are some genuinely great beers on tap and some surprises/risks (cold brew coffee in your beer? YES! it's great actually) The food menu is solid, as well. Options for a broad spectrum of preferences, wings to hummus, mussels to prime rib, veggie pita to cheeseburger. (Mussels are stellar and the buffalo chicken sandwich was outstanding) Great ambience/décor/vibe inside and I've had the pleasure of great musicians when I have been on nights with an acoustic guitar on stage. There is also an upper balcony/upstairs that appears good for larger groups.Kudos to the management for the play area for kids! Finally, can't wait to see what the outdoor area is like in warmer weather and will be more of a regular here.

What a great place to enjoy after a day at the convention center directly across the street and beside several hotels. The staff is well trained for this white linen establishment. They have a bar room with tables able to handle singles / couples. Ample seating options and party spots available, would recommend reservations as it does get busy. They seem to deal well with the deluge of orders and service does not suffer. This place exceeded my expectations and will return again and highly recommend.

Appetizers = GoodHalf Chicken with Peppers => Chicken cut in pieces was VERY, VERY dry; accompanying peppers lacked flavor and âpopâ and were under-roasted, (3/4 of a bell pepper, 2 pepperocini-type peppers, 1 banana pepper) NO SIDES,...Lunch plate = $20.25 (before tax and tip).Lobster Roll = Good, Meaty, Fresh, Bread Roll was Under-Toasted (Iâm comparing to other experiences, including East-Coast), Homemade Potato Chips on side were good but not great.Cobb Salad = Good, Hearty, Flavorful.Restaurant: Clean, Well-Lit, Cozy, Well-Decorated.Service=Good

Excellent food but very expensive food. $14.99 for a burger and fries is ridiculous. $11.00 Mac n cheese ? That being said, the food is really good. They know what they are doing with their smoked meats. The Ribs were delicious. Not fall of the bone boiled like a portillos, you have to chew them off the bone, WHICH I LIKE. $65.00 for lunch for 3 is nuts especially when none of us drank any alcohol. They have so many different beers it is crazy. I may return, but only if someone else is paying, lol. I'm not a cheapskate, I just assign a certain value to certain foods, and this place is at the top of my threshold of being too expensive for what it is.

I visited the restaurant during a business trip during the recent polar vortex. Temperatures were below zero but the Great Escape was warming and welcoming. The food selection was varied and tasty and the service prompt. My business colleague and I were quickly seated. Portion size and price were good. A gem of a local restaurant worth trying.
