Historic place, most professional staff.....cheap, clean, great selection of Mexican beers, and tequillas....some music.....bar food.....check out the burritos the guy sells out of the cooler. One of the safest places for Americans, across the border, and quite close...the trouble can vary, but at worst case it is fine during the day. Great hotel upstairs, too. I used to stay there, when I had business in Nogales Arizona...it's less than half of Motel 6 Nogales....very secure. Just be careful.

Went for a night out and had several dispointemnts on some of the "best bars"in town, when I finally hit the commics Bar I was satisfied. Great service, atmosphere and quality drinks. Defentally comming back here and not going anywere else when i fell like a drink

El Garage used be a quaint Mexican bar and restaurant in Nogales called Chevys. They had outstanding margaritas and the Chevy's nachos were incredible. About a year ago, they remodeled the place. Atmosphere is like an Applebees in the US. Food is OK but the margaritas are the same size as before but have lost their punch. When it was Chevys you would order a margarita and the waiter or waitress would bring a bottle of tequila to the table and float another shot or two on top of the drink. That doesn't happened any more. Food is just average bar fare now. There aren't many restaurants in the area immediately across the border. So it kind of wins by default. Its still Ok to go to and have a Mexican lunch but its lost a lot of its character.
4. Mariscos Alfredito's
We are a restaurant that gives you the best taste of regional seafood dishes with a great options of beers and cocktails, we also have live music with dj's and live bands on weekends! We have options for people who don't eat seafood or meat!!

My favorite seafood restaurant in Sonora is Alfredito's in Hermosillo and I was excited to learn that they were opening up a new place in Nogales, Sonora. The new location is great, the staff is friendly, and the food is simply excellent. There are too many great dishes to recommend, but the Tacos Minini should not be missed.
