Completely enjoyed the house special for mussels. Cooked perfectly and very flavorful. My wife had pasta with ragu sauce that was better than most in Italy. Ended the meal with delightful choc mousse and brûlée. Highly recommend. Chef speaks great English!

We are regulars in this restaurant. Very good food and great service. They also have a menu which costs 30,00 euro and this includes an entrée, main course and dessert. I can't imagine how someone can eat this much ! The portions are large !

I ended up here because of a tip from my B&B hostess. And a good tip it was. Although all seats were reserved, they gave me a place anyway. Friendly people serving here. And the food was good as well: I took the couscous dish which was served with nice smoked meat.

brasserie Francois

We were looking for dinner while staying in town for holiday. We saw the many positive reviews and decided to try this place (also many other restaurants were closed on Monday). The interior is beautiful. We would have sat on their terrace but rain was approaching so we sat in their back room, which was fine but a bit hot and stuffy. There were many classic brasserie choices on the menu. The white asparagus with smoked salmon was very good. The trout was good but a but bland. The prices were fair. Our waiter was efficient. We would recommend to others.

Taverne Wiertz

Depuis 1983 en bord de Meuse a Dinant notre etablissement familial specialiste en moules vous souhaite la bienvenue ...

Reviewed By Robert M

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the house we were staying in at Dinant, and she wasn't wrong! With the additional benefit of being less than a mile away from where we were staying (and therefore we could walk there), Wiertz overlooks the River Meuse. There was never any doubt that we were going to have the mussels here, but the place is clearly popular for its other dishes. We went on a Tuesday evening, and the place was getting close to full.We ordered our mussels (not having a starter), and sipped a glass of draught Leffe until the food arrived. If I had any criticism, it would be that the food did take quite a while to arrive - but the quality of the meal totally made up for this. The quantity of mussels was great. And the amount of fresh vegetables (and you could certainly tell that they were fresh) which were in the same pot was really quite unusual, and very welcoming. The chips were very good too. All in all, one of the best moules frites I have ever eaten.Needless to say, after all that food, we did not have a dessert.I would thoroughly recommend the restaurant.
