Visited on a midweek night . Made a reservation that lunchtime and were no 31 on list so you do need to reserve ahead of time.Service was efficient and friendly. Steaks were tasty and good quality but at €14 to €17.50 for standard steak (not dry aged and only up to 200g) it seems a shame that they then charge extra for any sides such as fries or an extortionate €4.50 for 4 pieces of broccoli.€110 for family of 4 to have basic steak and chips plus 1 coke each for kids and minimal wine / beer for parents. No starters or dessert in that order. It’s good food but pricing is definitely making the most of the captive audience at the marina

Het Hert

We went into a room with no other people, since we had a 20-month-old with us and, well, you're never quite sure (he was fine). The starter, carpaccio with shavings of duck liver, was generous, fresh and lovely. The ribs were sauced ribs, and although I ordered the spicy ones, they were really not spicy; still, they were very good. In fact, everyone's meals looked lovely. I also really like that there is no "children's menu" but simply the offer to make a half-price, child-sized portion of the menu's regular offerings. I wish everyone would do this. The wait staff -- from the waiter who high-fived our toddler to the one who added cream to his dessert -- were outstanding.

I've visited Demmers many, many years now and it's my absolute favorite place to take foreign visitors. NOT that it's a tourist place, on the contrary. But it's the ambiance, it's the enormous choice of beers, it's the unshelled peanuts you get - you can throw the shells on the floor. It's the time the waiter takes to explain the different beers to you (based on your preferences)...Demmer is a very small cafe.. there are only a couple of tables on the main floor and a couple on the upper level... I can guarantee you'll have a memorable visit!

Bonte paard

Reviewed By Robert S

This road side bar/cafe/outdoor restaurant located at the crossroads of the town centre of Laren, a leafy village 25 kms East of Amsterdam, is in the heart of the Gooiland. Notwithstanding its attraction as a home to thousands of commuters into other neighbouring cities, it attracts people from all around Netherlands hoping to oogle at the pretty women, fancy cars and others trolling the streets in search of a good bargain. This oasis in the middle of town (de Brink) has a stop light intersection in the road which cost the city half a million Euros and causes massive traffic jams at noon and in the evenings after 4:00. Get there early or enjoy a slow cruise through the centre of town staring at all the guests at the Bone paard as they stare back at you in the funeral procession going by.
