Good selection of meals and cater for children. Plenty of cider choices on offer and dog friendly. When we visited it was dark, the views outside of the valley and river can only be imagined.

My family and I went to The Saracens on Friday 25th October, wanted to have a meal but the were fully booked. Asked if we could book for Saturday, and we were told the restaurant was fully booked, informed we couldn't reserve a table in the bar, but if one was available we could eat in there. We arrived at 5.15pm and sat at a empty table, we ordered drinks and we were told we could order food at 6.30 when the kitchen reopened for the evening. At 2 minutes to 6pm we were approached by a waitress who asked if we were eating, before we could reply she told us the table was reserved from 6pm, and we would have to move. With no other seats we had to go outside to finish our drinks, and then go elsewhere to eat.Not impressed Apologies to this reviewer, but it certainly is best to reserve a table here at busier times, as we do get fully booked.

Proper country Pub with Log Fires, great real ales and wines, relaxing walled garden as recommended in The Good Pub Guide. Open for lunch and supper seven days a week.
Went for Sunday Lunch. No Sunday Roast but offered a standard menu. We all had fish, one halibut and three stone bass. None of us enjoyed the food because it was so salty. Four small glasses of wine and four coffees came to £27.30 and for very inferior wine too. This pub two years ago was very good. It has gone downhill. The gent toilets were dirty with cobwebs and very unhygienic. My advice it to give this pub a miss. Other have as there were only two other tables occupied. Customers are already voting with their feet.

We both had a Beef Dinner which was really lovely, there were 3 slices of Beef that melted in your mouth, also followed by Sherry Trifle and Irish Liquor Cheesecake, both were delicious. Lovely setting, and on a nicer day it would have been lovely to sit in the garden.

Thank you Punch House for making our stay really enjoyable. Highly recommended. The pub and rooms are smart, attractive, comfortable and clean with lovely decor. Situated right in the heart of Monmouth and with a wide range of drinks and offers. Despite it being really busy, the staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The breakfasts were excellent. Being dog friendly is a real plus. We initially planned our stay for two nights but liked it so much we extended it another night. We look forward to seeing you again. Many thanks for taking the time to leave your review, Iâm so pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and we do look forward to welcoming you back in the very near future. I do hope that you enjoyed your visit to Barry.Kind regardsVickie

We went here as a party of 50 on a ruby tour. A bunch of adults and 10 year olds. We had pre-ordered but turned up late. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was wonderful.

Rural country pub in the centre of the village of Staunton just short of the Welsh border, specialising in local real ales and good quality food sourced locally whenever we can. We have a 5 star food hygiene award. We are on several walks in the Forest of
We both really enjoyed our lunch today, chosen from the chefâs specials board. I had the nachos with chilli beef and loads of cheese, which was so tasty and really filling and my husband had the pastrami style cured trout. That was extraordinarily flavoursome and unusual. Ideal as a starter or light lunch dish. See picture below. Of course the ordinary menu has a wide range of lovely offerings too. We do advise you phone ahead as tables get booked up especially at the weekend and holiday times.

We serve a variety of meals from a BLT to a Trio of Game - wild boar hare and venison - All of our food is freshly cooked to order and always locally sourced. We are a traditional Inn that serves exceptionally good food. We are well known for the variety
This place is a little gem. Iâm so glad we booked a table as itâs not large but clearly popular and we could see why. Fantastic olde world decor, real log fire, snug bar and great natural atmosphere. Food was great, good selection for those with either A hearty or tiny appetite. Home made desserts a real treat especially the cheesecake. All for an extremely reasonable price. Highly recommend
