The acoustics are the only problem at Bigham Tavern. When it is crowded, as is common nearly every evening, the noise level is such that carrying on a conversation becomes a shouting match. But of course the crowds mean the food is good, which it is. The addition of healthy alternatives to the otherwise heavy Pittsburgh menu is highly appreciated.

Meat & Potatoes is a place with a warm, inviting pub atmosphere that serves sophisticated, yet unpretentious food. An extensive, and creative, cocktail, beer and wine list is an integral part of what we do at our wonderful establishment. Come visit a plac
I have not been as pleased with other trips to Meat and Potato as I was this time, and it took a classic dish, Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes to get there. If you are bold enough to make this a special, itâs probably good. The meatloaf was excellent, with tasty ingredients with high-quality beef. The mashed potatoes had the skin in them and were creamy and delicious! We shared the Burrata and Brisket Mac and Cheese appetizers. My friends all enjoyed their meals, including a few others choosing the meatloaf. Prices are a little high, but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile. Service was excellent.

Went for Sunday Brunch and had a great time. The food was a little different than your usual Sunday brunch, but everything was delicious and service was excellent. We has the guacamole and kaya chips to start. Tropical Paella and Chilequiles for mains - everything was great, tons of seafood and meat in each. The portions were very large too so definitely good for sharing! Highly recommend this place.

Tuesday is Bacon Night.
We arrived during early during happy hour for dinner so most menu apps were $5 and there were drink specials as well. We had the calamari (great), Lobster/crab Mac & cheese (phenomenal - easily shared between 2 or 3 people), Carnitas Mac & cheese (awesome - also extremely huge), the Totchos (good, not great) & Wings (great)! The inside of the restaurant was dark & dim & loud. We werenât crazy or sure about the vibe, but weâre from out of town, so it might be a great place for locals. The staff was great, the food came out quickly, the prices matched the quantity & quality of food. I only wish there would be more options for Mac & cheese sizes at lower prices.

One of our most favorite restaurants in the city is this local neighborhood mainstay. Great German food. The beer selection is great...try the sampler. If you like your potato pancakes one the "more done" side...ask for Sarah cakes (they make them the regular way and then they deep fry them for a min or two. It make them a little crisper (not over crispy) and more done inside. All other German favorites too!!! They use quality meats so everything is very good.If you are visiting and are on the north side...definitely look this one up. You cannot go wrong! We have never tried it, but we hear that the Sunday Brunch is outstanding.

We were heading to the theater for the evening, and made 5:00 reservations. The place is absolutely stunning, eclectic vibe...I would want to say upscale funky vibe. I liked it.Our server John was very good. We ordered brussel sprouts and beets for appetizers. Both were excellent-but the nod had to go to the beets (and I'm not even a big fan of beets!!). Hubby ordered scallops-and said they were delicious. I ordered flatbread...hmmm...I loved the taste, but I never could actually figure out how to eat roasted radishes that I needed to spread on small pita breads. Awkward to eat...but I ate the radishes and called it a day.We each had a glass of wine...$12 each. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. I did deduct a star for the awkwardness of eating the flatbread. It probably should come with directions...

While visiting Pittsburgh we decided to go for a morning walk to the North Shore. Our morning walk turned into a late morning happy hour when we passed by this place just after 10am. Really cool environment, great outdoor seating and great beer. Itâs amazing how much stuff is in that little area now. Great bar, will return when Iâm in the area. Definitely not a bad spot to sit outside at the bar and watch a college football game on a Saturday.

We started off with guacamole and margaritas off the October seasonal specials. Both were super delicious. My husband and I both tried a taco from their suggestions and each built a taco. We both loved our food. Don't come in expecting traditional tacos. These were way more flavorful. Our server, Shawn, was great, too! I highly recommend this place and hope to return when we're next in Pittsburgh.

Loved the vibe of this place....great lighting and style for a pleasant evening. The service from our waiter was top notch....efficient, friendly but not intrusive. My husband couldnât stop talking about his pesto pasta dish and my pizza was delicious. Well worth a visit if visiting Pittsburgh.

The custom sheet was great and I took advantage of it. Itâs not easy to find a solid elk burger! I wish there was an explanation of what the rubs were as I completely picked at random but otherwise, great. Hell, even the organic greens salad was great.
