Shadows on the Hudson, the Hudson Valley's Premier Waterfront Dining, is located in Poughkeepsie, NY. Our building is perched on a cliff 40 feet above the Hudson River and just 50 feet from its eastern bank. This prime riverfront location affords us one-o
A pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed our corn chowder immensely. Not so impressed by the garlic bread "tower" - just pieces of bread...Pasta needed to be more al dente and dessert selection was disappointing. We took a miss. Still, scallops were great as was salad.Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent visit to Shadows on the Hudson. We appreciate your feedback on the atmosphere and review of the dishes. We hope to see you again in the near future. Warmly,Deanna KnappRestaurant Manager

Wanted to dine somewhere we had never been but Saturday night was a bit busy everywhere. Our waiter was awesome and friendly. The food was below average. My husband had a giant burrito, he said the meat was overcooked but overall okay dish. My buffalo and blue chicken strips were painfully dry. Not on my list of places to revisit but as always we made the best and had a good time.

Our team visits this location each week and love the pleasant group of servers. Rachel our usual bartender is always friendly, helpful and clearly works very hard. Natalia, has become everyone's favorite server. What an amazing young lady! She is friendly, cheerful, attentive and very good at her job. She exhibits outstanding people skills. We now look to sit at one of Natalia's tables as we know we will be treated well.

The Dutchess Biercafe is located on Main Street in the center of the village of Fishkill, It is designed to provide a Belgian and/or German beer hall atmosphere. They offer a nice variety of Belgian beers on tap. Although the menu is limited and includes pub food, they offer some traditional Belgian and German specialties - wursts, moules/mussels, schnitzel. They have nice outdoor seating as well as inside. The service was friendly, but could be more efficient.

We have been here for the Breakfast Buffet on quite a few occasions. Love the BUFFET, it is by far the BEST around. I Highly Recommend it.This time, we decided to try Dinner. We eat out often, usually while on the road, we travel in our retirement. The service was great, the waiter frequently stopped by our table and filled water, coffee and additional drinks. But, the meal .... we were given a full basket of nice warm bread, but only two little wrapped up in paper squares of butter .. for three people. Speaking of butter, I expected more, butter wrapped in paper is served in Diners but NOT in a nice Restaurant. How LOW CLASS. The wife complained about her Salmon .. it was a very small piece of Salmon, more like a Minnow ... fish bait. She won't return for dinner. My steak was good, somewhat over cooked for med-rare. But the selection of steaks on the menu was limited. The future ... We will be going to Outback, Texas Road House, Mahoney's ... they know how to serve a quality meal for a decent comparable price. The Deserts looked great and we all ordered them. They were pretty, but all whipped cream... little desert. We will go to The Daily Planet, their deserts are fantastic.

Nice location, overlooking the lower falls on Wappingers Creek, in the Village. They have several small plate offering, reasonably priced. We tried several and were impressed with all of them. They have an extensive wines-by-the-glass menu, and several bottles from around the world, again, reasonably priced. The owners are upbeat and positive about their restaurant, and their future. Nice al fresco dining deck, when the weather is nice.....and it was during our visit.

We've eaten here three times so far this month alone and I have a feeling its going to be a regular for us. First time we both ordered cheeseburgers and thoroughly enjoyed them. Cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. Sadly they don't offer sweet potato fries but their French Fries are very good. Second time we both ordered cheeseburgers again and my husband loved his but mine was overcooked. Third time again he loved his burger but I ordered chicken wings. I was disappointed. I'm sure we'll be back for more cheeseburgers. Maybe mine will be cooked better next time. They have a short, limited menu but the if the food is prepared well who cares. Service is very good & friendly. Prices are typical for this area.
New cozy spot in the village of Marlboro. The food and drinks are outstanding. Excellent wine selection! Try the fried burata itâs like mozzarella on steroids. Steak frites and miso salmon were perfect.

I love this place because it is music-centric, the vibe is mellow and the food is good!!There are almost always two choices: stage performance upstairs and casual floor performance downstairs. It's great to be able to walk outside to get some fresh air and view the falls too!!! The staff is cool; Tony is a pleasure and Graham at the bar downstairs is very good!!!

Stopped by here for a late lunch - early dinner! Great savory Onion Soup with lots of melted cheese on top. My friends had a delicious burger with cheese and the mussels in the garlic sauce! Everything was good! Service was super fast and the wait staff was knowledgable and friendly. They also have s great view out the windows of the Hudson River and the restaurant hangs over the Marlboro falls!
