Reviews on Bar food in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. The sprawling University of Wisconsin sets the tone for this college town of cafes, bookstores, brewpubs, numerous restaurants (more per capita than anywhere else in the U.S.) and a good share of cultural and historical attractions. Stunning glacial waterways make the City of Lakes one of the more picturesque state capitals in the country. More than 250 parks offer residents and tourists plenty of recreational areas to choose from. If you visit the campus, be sure to try the famous Babcock Ice Cream at Memorial Union or Babcock Hall, before or after a visit to the Elvehjem Museum of Art's collection of Greek, Roman and Egyptian antiquities. And to really get into the college spirit, head over to State Street's eclectic range of ethnic restaurants. Be sure to try the mouth-watering bratwurst sandwich on a homemade bun at State Street Brats, a student favorite. At the end of State Street, the white granite, Roman Renaissance-style Capitol dominates the skyline and offers an observation platform for views of the city and lakes.

Those of you from the Madison area might remember the previous building occupant being JT Whitney's. We had previously been to the Vintage in Sauk City (the old one) and decided to visit the home base. The footprint inside is just as it was before, but the dark feel of the former Irish brewpub has been somewhat lightened by a different color scheme. We sat at the bar. There was quite a large selection of brews to choose from. Service was decent; we did not have food but saw several tables eating.Overall, this was not a poor experience in anyway. However, this did feel much more restaurant than brewery. If you are looking for food with a signature brew, this might be your spot. If you want a true micro brew experience, move on to another spot.

I've been to Brasserie V a couple of times, after a friend's recommendation as the place to get the best burger. I admit that I was not amazed by their burger; Although I did like the meat, I did not particularly like having a toastie bread instead of a bun. I've tried their salads, which I found to be a good attempt but would not describe them as good. However, I have really enjoyed their steak thus I am giving 3 bubbles instead of 2. Their beer menu is extensive but they have small measures.

Locally owned and operated featuring an American Contemporary menu.
I have been here numerous time, including for lunch, dinner, and a private party. The food has always been great and the service friendly, efficient, and attentive. The butternut squash soup is very good, garnished with some chopped apple. I especially like the Heirloom Caprese Salad and the Beet and Berry Salad. Their flatbreads are good - available in full or half sizes. Their burger is good as well. Their menu is eclectic and creative. This is one of my favorite Madison restaurants. They have an outdoor patio. It's covered and has a fire pit for cooler weather.

Reviews suggested that the pub had good poutine and indeed it did. It also had an outstanding selection of beer. My wifeâs mac and cheese was excellent, though my mussels broth not great. Overall we really enjoyed it though, possible aided by the superb location next to the Capitol.

We like to converse, canât happen here. We liked the reviews and location near the capitol building. The American cuisine menu looked good. But at 5pm the place was loud with recorded music. Asking for a quieter seating, the hostess told us this was a âloud restaurant.â Seating is available outside, but then the traffic noise was intrusive. We chose to walk two blocks to Graze.Thank you for your review. We are deeply sorry to hear that no accommodations were made regarding the volume of the music. While we are a smaller restaurant that can get loud at times, we can absolutely accommodate and lower the volume if necessary. We have brought this to the attention of our bar staff and we will be working as a team to provide a quieter yet lively atmosphere for our diners. We hope you visit us again in the future.

Most reviews tell the story. Excellent food, not exactly traditional Wisconsin fare, but just the right touch of crazy. A bit eclectic. The Ahi Poke is really good. Go for it.

Madison offers many distinct dining options, none much better than Graze. In a modern, high-ceiling, glass-glazed venue overlooking Capitol Square in Madison's city center - you will discover and enjoy locally-sourced, fresh foods and Wisconsin signature dishes. The restaurant was so enjoyable that we dined both nights we were in town. The "Local Pastures" list features 17 purveyors for Bread, Cheese and Dairy; 8 for Meat & Fish and 30 for Produce, Fruit and Nut items. The Menu is simple but luxurious - easy for decision-making with 16 Starters & Shares and 11 Plates. Don't be fooled by the one page menu, since all the ingredients are superb and the preparation is superior.

Established in May 2006, RP Adler's Pub & Grill has become a favorite by Madisonian's and travelers alike. Great casual dining with great blue collar service is what sets our restaurant apart. Hospitality like it oughta be!
Enjoyed the service and food. Ribs and prime rib well prepared. Good choice for a casual lunch or dinner. Grandson loves the Mac and cheese with brisket.

Dotty Dumpling's Dowry is a Madison institution favored by the locals for over 40 years. Located in the heart of downtown, Dotty's offers award winning hamburgers, Friday fish fry, homemade soups and chili, fresh salads and so much more! Cozy up in a boot
I love everything about Dotty Dompling's. The atmosphere is great and everything is really clean. You can just tell it's a well-run operation. The servers are excellent. The food is delicious. The cheese curds are so yummy (especially with the sweet mustard sauce) and the burgers are so good. Perfectly executed. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It's become a must-stop restaurant for us whenever we visit Madison.

We had great fun! Place packed! Long wait for a table (like 1 1/2 hours!) Food good and very reasonably priced. Old fashioned drinks outstanding as we waited at the bar for our table. Great place for all ages but must like to stand around ( or if u are lucky) sit at the bar waiting for food. Once seated food service is pretty quick. Interesting old Madison photos on the walls. Beer bottle chandeliers looked neat. I would definitely good again but would get there as soon as possible to 5 pm on Friday if you want a quick table.
