This is a well known bar because of the animal collection inside. It rivals a museum display, with an elephat's head, lion, tiger, grizzly, even a giraffe. The bar is an old fashion type bar with American drafts and bottles. A few simple items are sold like hotdogs and hamburger, but again, more of a place to go have a brew. The animal collection is a MUST to see if visiting Ligonier.
A beach in Pennsylvania, you ask? Well, yes indeed! Wonders never cease. Now we aren't talking California caliber, but this beach can be equally delightful when you attend with your family and friends. It is an ideal location for reunions and informal get togethers...a place to share picnics and fun. You are also quite near the historical, charming town of Ligonier complete with a gazebo in the middle of the town square as well as over a dozen little shops and restaurants. Take the family and go visit Ligonier...a delightful little town and beach in the Pennsylvania Laurel Highlands.

This is a beautiful old building with a newer restaurant and owner. Many diners still remember the price and formal Colonial Restaurant that served many prior. We opted to sit near the back entrance table area with spectacular views. My husband enjoyed his shrimp and pasta and the fried cod was pretty good. The French fries were saturated in oil and left behind. Prices are mid-range and it seems to be a local hangout. There are café tables outside and more formal rooms inside. Most patrons seem to dine in the dark and somewhat dingy room with the very long bar counter. They seem to have quite a lot of choices for alcohol. If we go back it will probably be for an appetizer and drink or a sandwich. There are beautiful geese including a swan or two in the lake which makes it quite picturesque. It was a rather hot day, so it was stuffy inside by the large windows, but you can probably find a cooler spot without the view.
Family friendly restaurant, serving American fare and gourmet pizzas. Large selection of draft beers wine and spirits.

Had dinner there with friends around 7 pm on a Friday night. Place was busy, a testament to the good food and service offered. This was the second time I was there, and both times the food and the service were equally enjoyable. The portions were quite large, I had a stromboli which completely filled the plate. The dough used for pizza and items like the stromboli is fresh and delicious, with just the right texture. The same waitress waited on me both times, and even though the place was busy we did not feel neglected. Although there are 4- 6 large TVs mounted on the walls, it was not a loud sports bar, instead there were sports to watch and yet a family with kids could eat there without feeling overwhelmed.

Working in the area, we like to visit hometown favorites. Googly fit the model. We tried some appetizers, and ordered mostly pub food. Service was fast and friendly, and food choices were enjoyed by the whole crew. I was the last to finish because portions were p!entiful. They have a great beer selection, but we all had soft beverages since we were going to work at 9pm. We'll return when our project is done, or maybe sooner! They even have an 8 lane bowling alley in the back. Cool place!

Classy little Pub on the edge of town with wood and stone finishes. Great selection of scotch and craft beers. Made to order Scottish American food.
Stopped in after a long day at Idlewild and this place helped me relax in the beautiful relaxing atmosphere. The shrimp basket, fries and my nephew's grilled cheese was all delicious. He killed it. Our server Sara B was on it too and super friendly! Will be back for sure!

Handled a group of 10 with prior reservations without any issues. Service was timely, waitress handled our group efficiently and timely providing outstanding service. Food was enjoyed by all with one exception, her fish was overcooked and dry, one of the challenges when handling a large group.
