Expectations were high, the price was reasonable and the welcome friendly.Unfortunately, the meat from the carvery was substandard. My rare (as expected) beef was tough and tasteless and my wifeâs turkey also lacked flavour. The roast potatoes were fine, the cauliflower cheese had plenty of taste and had been nicely browned, the leaks were in a watery sauce and the mashed carrots lacked flavour and could have been anything. This place is local for us, so disappointed that we will have to go further afield for a roast lunch.Unusually, for a carvery, we were tole we could make as many visits as we liked, including meat â we did not bother, but noticed other were enjoying huge helpings: Iâm afraid that quantity over quality is not for me.Deserts, were as advertised, homemade and very good indeed. With two drinks our bill for two came to £43. Service was not included and unusually for us, we did not leave a tip, since it was mostly self service and our requested bill never arrived and we had to pay at the bar

a nice location, warm welcome and an enjoyable evening. A large beer garden. A comfortable, cosy dining and drinking area. A lot of dog friendly locals. Beer on tap, wine good and average prices. Will definitely go back.

The George and Dragon Inn Reopened on the 13th Sept 18 under new ownership. The pub is situated in the beautiful village of Lamberhurst part of "The Weald of Kent" just 7 miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells. Our Head Chef and his team produce "Classic Pub Fa
A period property in the charming village of Lamberhurst on the banks of a little river. Quite idyllic really-at least the exterior is. Inside this period building is a cool, (temperature), bar with very friendly staff. Despite the various attractive features within, there is invasive music and various boards advertising food/events, which tend to interfere with relaxation. Outside is a different story. We loved listening to the little babbling river and would have stayed longer if we hadnât been en route to somewhere else. Weâll return.

This early 17th century building in the pretty village of Goudhurst has been painstakingly restored to a cosy and welcoming restaurant & pub, serving quality steaks cooked over charcoal, classic pub meals and modern British dishes. Alongside these are tra
We had a delicious lunch at the Vine. Our 3 meals included vegetarian and vegan options all thoroughly enjoyed. The chunky chips were cooked to perfection, crisp on the outside and really fluffy inside. The staff were all very friendly, it didnât feel like this was the first time weâd been there. Highly recommend!

An exciting new destination restaurant on the Kent and East Sussex border, delivering the height of authentic Latin dining in a warm and welcoming atmosphere
We really enjoy eating at The Old Vine under the current management. It's been pretty so-so in the past, but now re-cast as Galapagos, it's offering all sorts of interesting Ecuadorian meals, plus an interesting twist on old favourites like linguine. Very pleasant service, Recommended!

This is a good old fashioned pub with a good selection of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic and a welcoming landlord. The food was well-presented, plenty of it and very tasty. There was plenty of choice on the menu but none was spcifically mentioned as being suitable for Gluten Free. My wife is Gluten Free but she was able to have the seabass off the "Specials" board.

The Elephants Head is a traditional 15th Century English Public House. Serving traditional English pub food and quality Harvey's ales from 12pm Monday - Sunday. Both dog & child friendly, the Elephant has a large garden in the warmer months with stunning
My partner and myself popped in for lunch. I had fish and chips, she had risotto, we had scotch egg for starters. The scotch egg was the best I have tasted, the meal that followed was excellent, good portions of good food. ten out of ten! Thanks.

Driven by the Green Cross hundreds of times in the last 15 years and always meant to try........ finally did........ should have visited earlier........ fantastic food ...friendly efficient service...... good atmosphere. The menu is very fish orientated and all we ate between the four of us was excellent. This will become regular. One suggestion ..... a better choice of cider would be good.......

You'll find The Vineyard nestled in the heart of Lamberhurst, with a beautifully landscaped large garden, terrace and decking area overlooking the extensive vineyards. The atmosphere inside is cosy, with log fires and traditional oak beams and wood-panell
Our first visit to the Vineyard and we were very impressed. Situated in a quiet spot just on the edge of the village of Lamberhurst this is a pleasant looking place with a generous amount of car parking. There is a lot of outdoor space either on a large patio or further down into the garden, which also had some soft "sofa" style seating. The staff were very friendly, attentive and pleasant. There is a good selection of various types of food on the menu from sharing platters to pizzas, steaks, fish and chips and much much more. Prices are not cheap but most items are reasonably well priced. The service was excellent and there was no pressure to hurry up with our order, but once ordered the food arrived quickly. We chose fish & chips and a king prawn linguine. Both were excellent. It was lunchtime and fairly busy and being a warm sunny day most people sat outside with plenty of space, We booked in advance and I would imagine it is important to pre-book especially when the weather isn't good enough to sit outside.
