Reviews on Bar food in Ko Samet, Rayong Province, Thailand. Just three hours from Bangkok, Ko Samet is a favorite weekend beach getaway for expats and locals alike. However, most tourists head further south for their island breaks. Most of the island is protected as part of Khao Laem Ya – Mu Ko Samet National Park, making it clean and relatively unspoiled. The island offers a variety of resorts, from the quiet and family-orientated to those catering to the party-till-dawn crowd.
Things to do in Ko Samet
The place is very nice, and the best feature is the very comfortable bean bags on the beach. This is also the only place on the beach with club music during the day, which can be good for whoever likes it, but annoying for people who are more into relaxing on the beach. One problem was that after sitting there for about 15 minutes, no waiter came to ask what I wanted.Another problem is the prices. the prices of everything is almost twice as anywhere else.I ordered a watermelon shake, which comes in a fun big ol' jar-like glass. unfortunately it had almost no taste. the watermelon was not sweet, nor anything else. it was much better in places that were half as expensive.
well ..If you guys are single it s like the only place in the island to not be anymore. The staff is nice, i mean not only because of the money you may spend in, they were all friendly and funny and no trying to scam you about the prices even if u are drunk

Been here to eat several times, this time I took 8 family members and myself and was disappointed in the food this time. Before when I have eaten here the food and experience was great. Yes the Fire Show is a big attraction and you will have many people who are not eating congregate to just watch the show and all of a sudden what you thought were good spots to watch the show are blocked by non-patrons of the resturant. I would still go back and give it another try. While on the island it is nice to sit and watch the sunset on the beach and eat.

1st went about 10 years ago, it was half the price then. Was good value for money on cocktails. From 300 bhat then to o 650 now is a hike. Food is good though and the staff are very friendly.

Loved eating here food was excellent. Sitting on the beach was a treat for the family. Service was poor as they had the kids serving and they couldn't speak English. But none the less food was great

Right in heart of the village of Koh Samed, next to 7/11, the national park entrance, and 2 minutes walk from Had Saikaew, The Funky Monkey brings you delicious homemade pizzas and burgers, plus the finest Thai and international foods. We pride ourselves
I recently spent a holiday on Ko Samed with my daughter. We had breakfast at the Funky Monkey our second morning and returned there pretty much every day.The breakfast is great, proper bacon and as good as sausages as you get. In the evenings we chose the pizza, freshly made and super tasty.Even better than the food was the team of staff. We were made to feel welcome from the first minute we arrived.John, his partner, Nano, Stan and all the team were so friendly, so full of useful information, local and otherwise, such great company we were genuinely sad to leave. We look forward to returning to the Funky Monkey next year. Our very best wishes.Andrew and Jasmine.Dear Andrew and JasmineWhat can I say? The pleasure was all mine. It was lovely to meet you both and I really enjoyed our chats. Thank you for the amazing review, itâs very kind of you. I really hope you can make it back next year, it will lovely to see you again. Until then.....Fondest regardsJohn
