Reviews on Bar food in Kirriemuir, Scotland, United Kingdom. Kirriemuir, sometimes called Kirrie, is a burgh in Angus, Scotland. Its history reaches back to earliest recorded times, when it seems to have been a major ecclesiastical centre. Later it was identified with witchcraft, and some older houses still feature a ‘witches stane’ to ward off evil. In the 19th century, it was an important centre of the jute trade. The playwright J.M. Barrie was born and buried here, and a statue of Peter Pan stands in the town square.

The Osnaburg is where a pub crashes into a restaurant. An excellent gastro pub in which food and drink are treated with equal reverence. Our bar is a warm, relaxed and comfortable environment located beside Asda and Forfar Swimming Pool. You will find somet
Enjoyed a drink as a trip down memory lane. Was my local 30 years ago and although changed a lot it's still a great pub with great beer. Location is great right in town centre down a small alleyway. Take a walk round Forfar Loch and enjoy your drink afterwards.

The Dunnichen Stone is located on the edge of the market town of Forfar in Angus. The Dunnichen Stone is a new Rotisserie pub restaurant built to enjoy the local surrounding and cater for locals, business and tourists alike, whatever the weather and time
Visited 11.15 a.m. approximately for coffee and an anticipated hot filled roll. We were the only two customers and the staff member was less than welcoming. No possibility of a filled roll as kitchen didn't open till 12 midday - despite a poster saying 2 drinks and 2 pizzas all day, every day (can't remember the cost). Inquired about a biscuit to go with the coffee - no chance as the biscuits were in multipacks and staff member didn't have the code to open them. Obviously not a good time to visit as had heard positive accounts of lunches. Overall a very disappointing experience and certainly won't be returning.Dear VioletJ_13Unfortunately, you came in a bit early as we open at noon till 9pm Monday - Friday and 9.30am to 9pm Saturday and Sunday. At 11.15 our kitchen staff are not working yet so unfortunately a filled role was not an option.A poser does state Pizza all day but thatâs only during our food service times as advertised.I'm sure you will have a positive visit if you came in for lunch, please feel free to give me a call so I can reserve you a table.Kind regards,Jamie OliphantGeneral Managerr

We try to arrange a stop for lunch here on our frequent trips from Aberdeenshire to Glasgow, ok it means leaving the dual carriageway at Forfar/Perth and hazarding the cameravan which seems permanently operational on the only stretch of road high affords the opportunity to passThat moan of my chest, the food and service afforded by the Strathmore Arms are very good, busy for Sunday lunch so worth booking. Donât think youâll be disappointed

Went for lunch here as they are doggy friendly. We ate from the bar menu and had a burger which came topped with pulled pork and cheese, chips (which were fantastic) and salad and a scampi and chips with salad. The food was delicious and portions were large. We were served by a very nice waitress and the place had a definitely lovely country pub feel. We were stuffed full. Whatâs not to like. Recommended Thank for your review and recommendation. We are delighted you had such a good experience with us and hopefully see you again with the dog!

Enjoyed an evening meal here recently. The welcome into the Thrums was warm and the staff were friendly. The Soup was hot & tasty, the Fish was fresh and served with Crisp Chips, Veg and Tartare Sauce. Quite a good menu and Reasonably priced too. The surroundings are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable - Well worth a visit.

Dropped in for lunch. Friendly service with a good menu with some different dishes available like crayfish tacos as well as more conventional dishes like fish and chips. Good choice of vegetarian options and vegan although we had to ask about the vegan options as they are not marked on the menu. Tasty food, good value for money. Service could be a little quicker but we werenât in a hurry. Thank you for your review. We do have a separate vegan menu which I hope was made available to you. Thanks
