Find out what Bar restaurants to try in Kingston. Kingston is a city in and the county seat of Ulster County, New York, United States. It is 91 miles (146 km) north of New York City and 59 miles (95 km) south of Albany. It became New York's first capital in 1777, and was burned by the British on October 13, 1777, after the Battles of Saratoga. In the 19th century, the city became an important transport hub after the discovery of natural cement in the region, and had both railroad and canal connections. Passenger rail service has since ceased, and many of the older buildings are part of three historic districts, such as the Stockade District uptown, the Midtown Neighborhood Broadway Corridor, and the Rondout-West Strand Historic District downtown.

Stockade Tavern is a must visit when in the greater Catskill Area. We ran our boats from NJ to the Kingston water front. A beautiful weekend getaway. But besides the ride up The Hudson River, the HIGHLIGHT was the Stockade Tavern. It is a craft cocktail and charcuterie lovers paradise. The bartenders crafted exquisite cocktails using the finest ingredients and the charcuterie platters were prepared to perfection. The cocktails, food, ambience and professionals behind the bar where all OUTSTANDING!

We docked there 2 times in 2 weeks for the evening and came for happy hour and dinner. The 4 of us were really happy with the happy hour and the food was great. This is definitely the place to go for happy hour and Appetizers. Although the food came out really slow and not all at one time, it was good. We will return.

We ate here while staying at the Residence Inn next door. The food was delicious, service was friendly and efficient and the prices for the portions were very reasonable. We had the chicken parm and the eggplant parm along with an awesome antipasto salad.

Went here for dinner before driving back to nycAlthough they have excellent service the brisketWas not up Carolina standards and the beans Weâre not good. They also omitted the corn bread that should have been included.I had two pieces and the smothered onions were not cooked enough. Frankly a beer and a burger were a far better choice for this popular place. Sorry but energy and popularity does not equal a great place

We sampled several beers and two sandwiches: Cuban and the Grilled portabella. Both were very good. I liked the Cuban better. The beers we sampled the hurricane and Fun IPA. Both IPA were good we like the more citrus IPA better; the Fun. The beach area of town was interesting with all the piles of ICE pieces partially melted. Several rooms for different styles. Table and chairs in one and couches and chairs for a more lounge feel.

Boitson's is one of a very few high-end dining establishments in Kingston - although many try. But Boitson's "gets it." Prices are very reasonable for a place like this and do pay attention to nightly specials.I've been here about a half dozen times and aside from the noise level, they rarely disappoint. They serve a beautiful filet, awesome burger and killer appetizers (read: deviled eggs and devils on horseback â you're going to have to figure out the last one for yourself.)Beers are good, nice wine selection, friendly service, though not quite swift â what's not to like? Be sure not to miss outdoor seating on the rear deck, complete with heat lamps in case of a chilly nite. But that's part of the charm, all right in uptown Kingston!

We really enjoyed seeing a band play while drinking local beers. The beer menu is updated daily & the anchor has a large selection including local ciders. The place is much bigger than it appears. The staff & bartenders were friendly and the food looked great.

Modern Mexican featuring both traditional and innovative Fresh, made on premise food (even the chips and salsas). Grilled seafood and fajita steaks plus shrimp stuffed jalapenos are specialties. Burritos are filled with flavorful ingredients. A good selec
The chips were good with two kinds of really great salsas. I got the enchiladas with spinach and cauliflower. So good! And I never have leftovers but did take some home. Service was spectacular! From the front door to my parting, everything was quick and friendly. I actually had two waitresses coming by so I always had quick pleasant service. Plenty of street parking. I parked right in front of the restaurant. There was lots of outdoor seating and a bar that was pretty full. I sat inside near a window that looked out to the street.

Mariner's Harbor is located at 1 Broadway in Kingston and is adjacent to the Kingston City Marina on the beautiful Rondout Creek. Enjoy dining either on the glassed in deck, the outdoor patio or the dining room.
We spent the afternoon walking around the Riverfront/Rondout section and immediately this older, stately restaurant (and building) caught my eye.....If I didn't know better, I'd think we were in New Orleans. It's large, open, airy and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but what an atmosphere. Substitute and ocean for the river and you're on vacation in the old south. We decided to have a couple drinks but the bar was pretty crowded. No problem; they also have a large outdoor bar where we sat for a drink overlooking the river. We then went inside and had an additional drink and a couple of appetizers. We split the Little Necks on the half shell and the crab cakes; both were quite good. We decided to try another place for dinner, but my next trip here will definitely be here. I love the big, open friendly laid back atmosphere!Thank you very much for your feedback and we are delighted that you enjoyed your recent visit to Mariner's Harbor on the Kingston Waterfront.
