Kildare (Irish: Cill Dara, meaning "church of the oak") is a town in County Kildare, Ireland. Its population of 8,412 (2011 Census) makes it the eighth largest town in County Kildare and the 55th largest in the state, with a growth rate of 8% since the 2006 census. Although Kildare gives its name to the county, Naas is the county town. The town lies on the R445, some 50 km (31 mi) west of Dublin – near enough for it to have become, despite being a regional centre in its own right, a commuter town for the capital.

Was passing by when we decided to go in for lunch. From the outside it looks impressive but unfortunately the same cannot be said for the inside. The premises was drab and dull and could do with a good clean. The menu had a good variety of choices.I had a toasted blt.It came out made with a big leaf of lettuce between the bacon and tomatoe,Very little thought given to presentation with some fries that were not properly cooked.Would not recommend this place very disappointing and certainly no interaction from staff.

This was a joy to visit and seemed popular with locals. The menu is eclectic and broad, but not in the 'everything out of the freezer, delivered from food service' way. The Thai options were very nice and we all enjoyed our food. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. Definitely to be recommended.

we dropped in here for lunch with no great expectations, the service was excellent and unlike so many eateries the chicken wings had loads of chicken on them. their soup was excellent with very tastie chips. will be back for a night meal having since heard great reviews of their steaks. both bar and retaurant staff were excellent.

We are sorry you had a bad experience with us...I have passed on your comments to our head chef and we would have certainly changed your meal on the day if it was not up to our usual standard. Our Sundays are always busy as we are a well known venue for Sunday Lunch and our Carvery and if it was All Ireland Final Sunday you called we would be a popular pit stop for lots of GAA supporters!I hope we will see you again in The Silken Thomas and Kildare Town.
