We dined here twice during our vacation in Kiawah. Our dinner salads were excellent - loved the caesar dressing. Our seafood reuben, fried shrimp, turkey reuben, and onion rings were all delicious. It is not a fancy place but we have found the food and service to be consistently excellent. In our last visit, the server was absolutely fantastic - so friendly with our young niece while still handling our order and her other customers.

My expectations were exceeded! Not your typical pub fare. I had whiskey glazed salmon paired with an outstanding whiskey/ginger beer/peach cocktail. I could eat here 5 nights a week! I will certainly be back to try other menu selections. The service was great but the food and cocktail exceeded expectations.

Local hangout with great service and good food. Shrimp basket with fries and slaw hit the spot. Located in the marina so you can take a walk afterwards and check out the boats.

Just spent a long weekend at the Sanctuary. Had lunch at this restaurant 3 times and the food was good. Limited menu but goodGreeted warmly when you walk up to the host podium. Promptly seated. Then the service trails off. The servers were very nice but very slow. Each time we asked for anything, we had to ask multiple times. These were the basics like water refills and ketchup. They seem to forget each time a request is made. This happens not once and not twice but all 3 times we ate hereGood food but bring your patience

Such a great spot right on the water -- that's our positive spin. Our food looked good but was not as fabulous as we hoped. My husband had the fried oyster salad which also had fried onion rings and he was sad because both were barely warm -- as if they had been pre-fried and were just waiting to "don" a salad. I had the wedge with shrimp as an addition -- it was okay. I think our biggest disappointment was service was very, very slow. We heard the waitress telling another table she was the only one working and she was sorry -- but that just isn't a good excuse for a restaurant. It took us forever to get drink refills and we ended up going inside to pay, because the waitress didn't come back in a timely manner after dropping off the bill. The menu looks yummy -- they really need to work on the service side.

We came with our kids and they do have a kids menu! They loved their burgers and Mac and cheese. It is a sports bar atmosphere. The waitstaff was great, I would really recommend getting the nachos they are really big, but tasty! We also like the buffalo shrimp!

Service was great; she lauded their pimento cheeseburger so I got it along with potato salad side and butter pickles, a southern delight! Started with the beet salad; they could add a few more beets to it though. Wife added grilled chicken to hers while daughter and friend enjoyed cheese and charcuterie board. Doesn't serve food until 2pm so we waited 15 minutes to order. Overall very nice!Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are thrilled here at FortyEight - Wine Bar & Kitchen that you enjoyed the food options as well as our wine selection! We are glad you had a great experience and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

We had a family group at dinner and enjoyed the large sampler meal, which was more than enough food for all of us. Food was mostly good. Only comment is that all food does not need to have chilis to be flavorful ... some of the dishes were so hot that many of us could not eat them (for example, the baked beans). Service was great - very attentive and helpful. Loved the view of the alligator pond !

Definitely recommend checking this restaurant out for the views itself! We enjoyed a nice evening on the patio. I had the crab wedge salad and my husband had the crab cake sandwich.

Neighborhood beach bar with fresh cocktails and tasty food. Nightly specials as well as Happy Hour!
So glad this place opened! Definitely one of our regular go to restaurants. We've been about a dozen times. Some of my favorite mixed drinks ever. Food is always very good and very fresh. We love the open air concept. The set up is a bit weird about ordering food if you aren't sitting at the bar, but the rest is great. Staff has always been great. We love going for an evening boat ride, then walking to Lowlife for drinks and food after.
