Stationed on Historic Kennett Squareâs State Street, Grain KSQ offers an open atmosphere to meet friends and enjoy well-crafted food and drink. Voted "Best Food and Brews" by County Lines Magazine. Featuring award-winning food creations, you will always f
The food is very good and there is a wide selection of beers. Service was excellent, cheerful and well-informed. For those who knew this as the Half-Moon, the owners retired and the prime location was picked up by Grains which is a regional chain that tries to be local by location. I'm not a big fan of the new decor, in which the traditional old-school restaurant ambience has been replaced by a modern exposed-industrial look and furniture that looks like Formica, or maybe it is just Ikea-style? Then again, you're not going there to eat the furniture, and you will be pleased with what is served.Warning - it is on the main street in Kennett Square and there is often not very much parking. Beware the meters, which aren't all that expensive but are in force (and enforced) on the weekend and only take coins.

This place is awesome & doesnât fit into a normal box. The atmosphere is... good zen; casual, fun, sophisticated, un-sophisticated, almost chic but not its cooler. Good beer, good drinks, live music, games and food trucks!!! Awesome food trucks!

Giordano's is a great, relaxed, "go-to" local place. Service is always quick and friendly, the menu creative, and the food always hot and plentiful.Did I mention mouth-watering delicious? In addition, the portions are huge! You're sure to go home with half of your meal boxed for another yummy meal. The one point that keeps me from giving it "5" is the atmosphere. The outside is a cold 1930's Bauhaus design and the inside is what one might call factory chic, almost stark. Only the red accents give it some life.Otherwise, you will be sure to return.

The main dining room is comfortable and charming but the service and the food have gone downhill. The waitress didn't let us try the wine before overfilling the glasses The braised short ribs were tough and the shiitake tortellini on the menu were packaged cheese tortellini with chopped shiitakes in the sauce. The only bright spot was the crab cake sandwich.

Over the past few years we haven't had great luck with Applebee's food, but this time was very enjoyable! My wife and I had a lunch here and enjoyed their appetizer offerings. We shared an order of pretzels with cheese dip and followed with an order of chicken tenders with mustard and bar-b-q dips. All were very good and we enjoyed the service provided to us by Carrie. The manager stopped by our table and made us feel very welcome too. Good eatin' in the neighborhood!

KBC is serious about supporting the excellent local musicians. Live music on most nights. Go early and enjoy an awesome classic burger before the band starts. This is a definite on weekend nights. New in-house brews are on the menu weekly too.
Where to Eat in Kennett Square: The Best Restaurants and Bars

This restaurant is located in The Shoppes at Longwood Village. Although this pub has 6 locations, our dinner didn't taste like chain restaurant food. Our waitress, who was quite knowledgeable about craft beers, brought out a couple samples to taste, based on information provided to her. When you first walk in, it does look like a pub. Moving to the back area to dine though, we were pleased that the menu had some interesting options. The food tasted like you'd get at a higher end restaurant, not just a pub. For example, their mushroom soup, described as roasted cremini, shiitake & oyster mushrooms, cream, thyme, crumbled goat cheese, sliced scallion, & shiitake "bacon" was quite good. The pulled pork sandwich & homemade potato chips were a hit as well. Their Power Salad included tabbouleh, farro, & bulgar wheat. I understood why our hotel listed this pub as a staff favorite!

Located in the heart of historic Kennett Square, Portabello's has something for everyone. Chef Owner Brett Hulbert's menus offer tempting selections for lunch and dinner! Amazing burgers, artisan soups and sandwiches along with signature dishes which incl
So accommodating, with a great menu that leans into local strengths (did you know the Brandywine Valley is the mushroom capital of the world??) We ordered the mushroom crepe, and I also ordered the mushroom pasta (papardelle forestiere). Both were fantastic. They also have a great cocktail list, and they offered us a free dessert when they noticed that we had a Hallmark card with us. (It was our fifth anniversary!) If the caramel crunch cheesecake is on the menu, don't pass it up. We were both stuffed before dessert but didn't regret somehow finding room for this nicely balanced treat. Oh, and they were able to give us a table outside even though we didn't specifically request it in our reservation and it was a busy night. Thanks for everything, Portabello's!
