We walked in on Fathers Day without booking, not really expecting to get a table. The host was extremely accommodating in seating us firstly at a bar leaner and then onto a table as soon as one became available. The menu is extensive with some surprisingly different options. The 5 plus a day salad was scrumptious as was the steak my partner had. The skillet cookie dessert with ice cream was a hit as was the toffee pudding. We will certainly be back. A nice wee find.

lunch stop on way back to the city - very clean & pleasant surroundings - a window seat so I could spread out & also read my sunday papers - chose the crumbed fish which arrived juicy well cooked and tasted awesome for this person who had missed breakfast - tartare with whole capers - Yummy!! the rest of this dish disappointing - chips under cooked, salad best left on the side - I liked the idea of smashed peas but such a small serving - this dish could have given a WOW but let down with the additions. Water only as wine list is very tired and dated - the wait person - beautiful lady but didn't see one smile not even when I went to pay - I was the only person there and no follow up with the meal or asked if I wanted desserts. coffee - upsell needed.would visit again as the fish was amazing but lower my expectations.

Craft Bar & Kitchen is a new bar concept with its first site in Rotorua and now proud to open in Kaiapoi, with 60 craft beers and ciders and quality food.
The menu had good variety, the staff friendly and a range of Moa and Good George craft beers on tap.Overall it was just ok, average bistro pub food, not anything special. There are lots of bistro craft pubs around these days but the ones that stand out tend to be passionate about the beers and be able to discuss what is on tap rather than just pour the label. It felt like a franchise formula rather than a genuine craft destination. The staff here were just doing the job, seemed to have no product knowledge and there were very few customers there, admittedly mid week, but I wouldnt go on a long drive just to visit this bar.

Resting on the banks of the Kaiapoi River, Port & Eagle Brewpub is the home of Eagle Brewing NZ and all things beer. We have a range of traditional/non traditional pub meals to compliment the wide range of beers, most of which are crafted onsite.
The setting at the Port and Eagle is lovely with the outlook over the river. The food was fresh and well presented. The service was not great with long wait times for orders being taken and food/drinks arriving. We were not asked if we required any further drinks at any stage either and had to call the server over to have the water replenished. The wine was overpriced - a $14.00 bottle of wine charged at 55.00 is excessively expensive. Overall there was nothing about the Port and Eagle, other than the setting, to entice us back.

We stopped here for lunch. The menu is limited, with a variety of different meals to choose from, including several gluten-free options.I had the prawn and fish salad - a generous sized meal, very tastyMy partner had a chicken tortilla, which turned out to be a salmon tortilla - no explanation of the change.Table service is provided - quite efficient, although the waitress also had to make coffees, which slowed down the service a little. We enjoyed lunch here.

Striving to be Kaiapoi favourite destination. From breakfast to lunch to snacks and dinner. a casual place with kid friendly playground, pop in for a coffee and cake or a refreshing beer after work . A nice night out with the family or we can cater for bi
We recently went to Jagz, which is at the northern end of Williams St in Kaiapoi, on our way to the Cinema in Rangiora. We had a voucher and this was acknowledged without any problem at all. The service was exemplary; personal attention tops. The Friday evening specials are well worth a visit. Happy Hour from 4pm-6pm and $10 pizzas from 5pm to 9pm. These are not skimpy pizzas either. Excellent As we were moving on, we asked how long our food would be and the response was excellent. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and point out, too, that there are other specials on most days of the week, not just Fridays. We look forward to a 2 for 1 Breakfast (9am-10am) one Saturday or Sunday before too long.WOWWW, what a fantastic review. Many thanks and we certainly look forward to seeing you for our 2 for 1 breakfast soon, Kind Regards Greg Sweet and the The Jagz Team.
