We finally decided to check this place out . Fun atmosphere & friendly staff, great quality food though it tried to masquerade at not ! We were surprised at the wide range of customers there - from college age into their 50s, just a fun laid back group of people! Bartenders were attentive-high quality liquor to $3 Schlitz cans ! We ate a burger (nicely cooked medium ) veggie chili (great flavor) and a grilled PB&j with fluff & Nutella for dessert! Donât forget the tots ! We had garlic but they have ranch and truffle and nacho and the works with bacon ! A fun spot - we will be visiting again !

Federal Taphouse & Kitchen combines craft beer & comfort bistro inspired menu with something for everyone. Set in a casual atmosphere on Historic Federal Hill,
If you love beer, they have so many different types that there will be something for you. We came here looking at the reviews here on Tripadvisor and we were NOT disappointed. The food was delicious, and the server was attentive and great. The appetizers are HUGE so be warned. We had fried pickles, buffalo wings and Poutine. They were all great and filling. The prices are reasonable. If you are looking for good Providence food, Don't hesitate to try Federal Taphouse and Kitchen.

Dined here on the Pride Parade evening. Reservations were for 7 PM and we were promptly seated. The one issue I had immediately was that the hostess sat us at a table for Four and added one seat at the end. It made things pretty tight and uncomfortable. When I inquired about a bigger table/booth, she said they had some big party reservations coming in and couldn't accommodate. There was plenty of outdoor seating, but it was our first time and I didn't think to ask(and it was not offered). By the time we were leaving, inside the joint was like a ghost town. I found this pretty annoying because the hostess could have put us somewhere more comfortable. I can only speculate they were expecting a flood of people after the Pride Parade, but that would not have been until 9(parade was at 8), i.e. there was absolutely no reason not to sit us somewhere more comfortable or offer outdoor seating. Oh well, the rest of the evening made up for the annoyance. Service was great and burgers were awesome. Everything was priced moderately. Sangrias were good and they offered some decent beer options. We did have a hit or miss experience on the appies. Onion rings were delicious, but the fried calamari we received was horrendous. Overcooked and salty. It went untouched by all five people. Guess we should have gone with a traditional pub appie like the nachos. Despite the seating annoyance and the terrible calamari, the place is worth a visit. Burgers are the main attraction after all, and they lived up to the Trip Advisor hype. Waitress was wonderful and returned quite often to check on us.

An inspired Italian restaurant, our focus at Avvio is on fresh, simple ingredients. Prepared with distinct, yet traditional cooking techniques, our menu features Italian classic dishes along with true Neapolitan pizzas, fresh Italian salads and wood-fire
Atmosphere is lovely. Busy bar scene. Immaculate, excellent service. I never had to request more water. Bread sticks and bread upon request. Choices for vegan and gluten free. Handicap accessible. Veal parmigiana was very good. Wonderful sauce/gravy for the pasta. The Pasta Con Pollo was good, but was weak on the chicken portion. Chicken pieces were very small and thin; much was over cooked.Thank you Bobbie. Thanks for the very kind review and we are glad you enjoy it here at Avvio. We are always glad to know our service makes a good impression. We will share your feedback on the Pasta con Pollo with our culinary team. They are always listening to guest feedback to find out how we can keep getting better. We hope you come back and join us again. Gratefully,Raul EstevesGeneral Manager

What a find! We went to Wicked Tulips Farm (which is wonderful) and then wanted some lunch. Stumbled across this place and frankly didn't expect much. They had four $5 lunch special including a ham and cheese with fries, a personal pizza with 2 toppings, 2 chilli dogs, or fried clams with fries. Seeing as it was a lovely warm spring day, visions of summer weather enticed us to try the fried clam platter. We had nothing to lose, except 5 bucks.Well the waitress/bartender was very nice and friendly and attentive. She offered lemon in my water and refilled our drinks frequently. The clams were surprisingly excellent. Really an all around wonderful experience.

I found that most Hotel restaurants are not worth the hype or price. I found just the opposite with the Vig. Good service, great food with nice portions. My wife and I ate dinner here before an event at the DD Center and were surprised at the quality and prices. We also walked through the Vig after our event and it seemed like it was the place to be. Very crowded and everyone enjoying themselves. We may have to go for drink after the event next time we are in Providence.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was friendly, and service was decent. We started with calamari that we very good. For our entrees I enjoyed Saltimbocca veal and my wife a surf and turf special with lobster and filet. The food was cooked perfectly. The waitress was a bit forgetful but very friendly checking on us often. The prices were very reasonable and the portions served more than one person could eat. It was an enjoyable meal and evening out.
