Reviews on Bar food in Jerez De La Frontera, Andalucia, Spain. Southwest of Seville, Jerez is a well-heeled place. It’s the home of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and its famous dancing horses; if you’re on a budget or can’t be there for a formal performance, it’s worth dropping in to catch a morning training session. The other major reason to visit Jerez is to sample its most famous product—sherry. You can do this at a number of bodegas associated with the world’s best-known brands, including Bodegas Tio Pepe, The House of Sandeman, Jerez, and Pedro Domecq. They’ll soon have you knowing your amontillado from your oloroso. There’s also an Alcázar, dating back to the time of the Almohads, which features a small mosque, now the chapel of Santa María Real.

Great atmosphere that appeared to be mostly locals. Loads of bar space and plenty of cocktails and drinks to choose from. The band playing this night were a form of flamenco rock that strangely worked. Doesnt get busy till at least 10pm. Good times. Oh and they also do the usual tapas.

Not the friendliest of welcomes. It's self service but nothing tells you this. Food was really good but I will never be convinced by a paper plate.I had a chilled sherry and that was fantastic

Taberna Jerez, located in the heart of Jerez, in Plaza del Arenal. The interior of Taberna Jerez simulates a Patio of a Jerez Bodega with grape leaves in the roof and bunches of grapes as lights. Decorated with old wine labels on one of its walls, at the
This restaurant sits in a corner of the Plaza Arenal and is very handy if youâre visiting the Alcazar or cathedral. Only Spaniards were eating there which is what appealed to us. We had some wine and tapas. The chicken was succulent and the fish cakes were very good. Service was quick. Not sure if itâs a draughty corner or if the wind was just getting up but it was pleasant to sit there and watch the world go by anyway.Thank you very much for the comment. In the Arenal square, it usually runs air as it is an open square. Our customers are varied, both here and tourists. Everyone is welcome!! Until next time

Tabanco Wines and Tapas. Good wines from the land of Cádiz, tapas tasting and specialty in the red world of the almadraba Gadira de Barbate with many dishes of this delicacy of the sea. We are in the center of Jerez de la Frontera. Cozy place and good ter
Every time we walked by, Con-Bulli was busy. So we decided that all those locals could not be wrong. It is a tiny little gem of a place! Our host was very charming, and handled my "broken" Spanish, very well. The tapas were tasty and filling, and the choice of wines and Sherries, excellent, for the size of the bar.

I am very glad we escaped from the hotel and stumbled across this little restaurant just 200 metres away. I had dorada a la plancha and my partner had entrecote steak; both were cooked to perfection and were reasonably priced. The service was friendly and efficient, and the room, although nearly full, was surprisingly quiet for a Spanish restaurant at midday! Recommended.

La Moderna is a traditional looking bar where locals and visitors mix well. At the end of the bar, in the back, you can see part of the city wall (Medieval, I think). The staff is very friendly.Suggestion: try the toasts with home-made "salmorejo". Simply delicious!

We were in Jerez for the evening and a local friend recommended Bar Juanito for tapas and drinks. We totally loved it. Guillermo was extremely professional, personable, engaging and attentive and speaks excellent English for those with little or no Spanish. Bar Juanito has excellent outdoor seating - perfect on a warm night - and the interior has a lot of character with photos and other visual connections all over and worth exploring. The food was really excellent! We had artichokes and albóndigas, excellent wine and a bonus Pedro Jimenez sherry to finish the visit! If you are in the Old City, this is totally worth it!

Office of wines from 1925, with flavor to època, between barrels of good sherry, and a simple variety of traditional lids of the land, we are in the corazòn of the city between the Blue Rooster and the Theatre Villamarta. THE ONLY PLACE TO TASTE THE WINE
When in Jerez we always go to this Tavern for real, authentic, traditional food, drink, atmosphere and of course, the passion of live Flamenco, which is on every night at 9.30. Don't expect the staff to speak English, but expect amazing value and amazing entertainment. Tip: you must email in advance to book a table to eat. The alternative is to watch it free in a bit of a scrum from the bar.

My wife and I have a second home in Jerez. A friend had recommended this place. When we arrived it was crowded but there was one table for two free which my wife and I took. We were then told that the table was reserved but that we could put our name on a list for tables as they became free. We stood at the bar and had a couple of beers. We noticed that some larger parties who arrived after us were being given tables. After an hour my wife enquired when we were likely to be called and the manager said that we had been called but we had not responded. This was untrue as we had been waiting at the bar listening for a call. The moral is beware of a list reservation system which doesnât work or doesnât work fairly. The visit was not improved by a barman trying to charge 4 Euros for the second round of beers ordered rather than the 2.60 which we had been charged for the first round. We left in disgust with empty stomachs.
